In those instances it is not going to matter, even if you put it on heroic, If an 85 paladin couldn't stay alive then they were on a fail boat from a leveling service or something, seriously, seal of insight and auto attack and nothing can kill you there unless you purposely let it. Personally I would go prot, but im decent at it and can crank out in the 15-20k aoe with him still. I have just never cared for ret.
