Arathi Basin bug for multiboxers?

Heya folks,

Finally started playing around with battlegrounds this week on my 5 Shaman team, Quixotry.

Since i hadn't installed an AV queue mod yet i decided to try Arathi Basin. I was the first into the BG with all my characters grouped at the start. After a minute of "OMG", "WTF!@", and "reported" comments, we got to killing and dominating the map. Single handedly knocking out 4-6 defending hordies at the Smith and Mine felt great... next thing i knew we had a 5cap sustained and were quickly winning the map. About that time I finally took notice to a couple of the "how did you hack the BG??" comments.

Our team had 19 people to their 11.

I thought it was just a fluke, but my next 2 games also started with my team having 19 players. One game balanced out somewhat after a few people dropped. Nevertheless they were all unfair wins. I stopped after that until i could get some feedback. Is this a multiboxer only bug due to joining at the nearly the exact same time? Or has this problem been around for awhile? With AB being the BG event of the weekend, I am planning on spending some time there tonight and tomorrow. I have yet to have a GM contact me and would hate for my first interaction to be about a real issue of me defeating the system somehow.

Thats kinda fucked. Hope its just an issue with the BG temporarily. Doesn't look great if you get reported a few times and are considered to be really cheating.



Did you try WSG or any other such BG?

hm, wierd. Did you use a mod or somethign to hit "Join" exactly the same time? Is there a way to bind "join battle" to a key? Ive always just clicked it on all characters involved. Thats just wierd though ive 3-boxxed BG's a lot and never had that problem.

Well, if you're 5-capping, many times people on the opposing team will /quit.

On my BG, people will quit before the game even starts if they think it's a premade. Often, premades will use other BG queues as ways to cheat the BG matching system -- if they're a 15 man premade, and they see they're grouped against another premade, they'll often BG hop from battleground to battleground (i.e. queueing for both EoTS and AB, and leaving their leader outside to requeue them if it's a bad match) by using multiple BG queues until they get queued with a PUG. This often leaves the original BG groups with not enough people to successfully play the game.

I'm going to be testing it in about an hour. Although if i do find a guaranteed way to repeat it, i'll just forward that straight on to a GM/bug report and figure out a way to avoid it. I sure would hate to generate a bad reputation for our community by truly cheating, and hope others would feel the same way.

I had something similar happen long ago, before Burning Crusade and before I started multiboxing. We were doing 15 man premades for AB and we notice we had a pug in the group. So we ask in vent who didn't get in the queue. And it turned out that we all made it. It was 16 on 14. And it was like that for 3 games in a row and then stopped. We weren't sure how it happened though.
