hmm on the one hand I feel sorry for the guy, but on the other.. sigh..

don't get me wrong, I find it brave of the guy asking her to marry him in front of so many ppl, and many ppl will find this romantic, which it can be. The situation where both parties are very much inclined towards marriage then shweet
But more often then not, there is so much social pressure on the woman that either she feels forced to say yes, leading to complications later, or as in this case she says no, and everyone feels sorry for him and likely some resentment towards her.
Personally I would never want to put someone in a situation like that
