reducing the maxfpsbk will nto effect how your character performs in the game... just how it renders on screen. and since you won't see the clients, since they will be behind your main window, 5 fps should be more then enough

What about my setup - I run a main window and 4 smaller pips along the top 15% of my screen with maximizer, so although the clone windows aren't "active" in front, they are still visible... will running the lowres macro and setting maxfpsbk to 5 kill my clones ability to maintain follow etc... or help it. Right now I havent messed with the maxfps or maxfpsbk settings and things run pretty well. If im runnin through shatt in primetime and hit a lag spike sometimes I'll lose one of my shared cpu clones (5 chars - 4 cpus = 2 clients share a cpu... which is just a tad slower than the standalone clients). How would you recommend I set this up to maximize fps but still maintain functionality with my clones.Originally Posted by 'keyclone',index.php?page=Thread&postID=39104#post 39104

if you are seeing lag spikes in such areas, and your alts are already @ 5maxfpsbk, it most likely has to do with the amount of memory you have on your system (assuming your details are too high)

No I haven't set up any keyclone maxfps settings yet, but I would like to as I'm sure it will maximize my setup over just letting wow allocate resources equally among the clients. My question was, given my setup as described above, would setting maxfpsbk to 5 or so help considering my windows aren't buried or minimized, they are just smaller and positioned above my main.
BTW: my system is 2.8quadcore, 8gbram, 512 8800gts playing on a 24"LCD split into 5 regions with maximizer.

your system specs are similar to mine (i'm using 260s)... and i run them at 30/42 just to insure i have plenty of cpu/gpu left over.
setting them to 5/42 would also work and would leave even more cpu/gpu for spike situations
of course, i also have the details set to low

One significant savings in resource usage I haven't seen mentioned:
Turn off sound for all but 1 WoW window. Makes a big difference. Esc>sound and video>etc
And Keyclone's right, get the Low, Medium, High details for graphics settings macros from the wiki, they help a lot too.
