    Default So I started....

Started 3 locks 2 priest, not sure why 2 priest and not a 4th lock but anyway on to the story. I hit lvl 11 and thought I would try out RFC with my crude macor set up I had b/c I just hadnt taken the time to set-up well yet. Made 6 kills and then wiped lol boy there is alot more micromanaging then I tought or well really was ready for. I then spent 3 hours this morning making macros and trying to sort thing out alittle better and ended up about the same. Im going to lvl to about lvl 15 now so im same lvl as most of the mobs in there and try then.
Anyone else that is just starting to 5box hit a brick wall on there first instance run? I might now try switching one 2priest out for a 4th lock and just use the priest to heal instead of dps and heal.

I would do 1 healer 4 damage dealers personally, or a complete and balanced group (lots of micromanagement). Also, a well thought out setup goes a LONG way.

I've been planning my UI and macro setup for well over a week now, waiting until payday (and time) to setup with a 5th account and 2 copies of KeyClone

I hit the same brick wall in RFC (although i didn't try at level 11).
At first it sounds easy to control the different characters which basically comes down to healing the void and dpssing BUT actually doing it is something you have to get used to.

My advice is to get used to that playstyle by taking new abilities one by one.
Create a simple cast sequence for your dpssers (see macro thread) that assists the healer and nukes the target down till it's dead and actively play your healer. With that one macro alone you can do most stuff and add more utility when you feel the need. Don't try to do everything at once!

Second advice is to accept the fact that you will wipe and that you will wipe more often than with a group where 5 people can pull some stunts when a pull goes wrong.

Third advice is: Don't try to tackle the dungeos when you are too low. First it's frustrating when you go down, second downtime means slower progression. Personally I did SM still with lvl 44. The mobs were all green but I didn't die and could kill them so fast that the exp was good.

Fourth: Don't get frustrated. Leveling up 5 chars is tougher than leveling up one char.

    Hope this helps,

I took my priest/4 mages into RFC at level 14 and ran it until level 18 or 19 without too much trouble. No full wipes (healer died a couple of times doing pulls) and the occasional mage death while AoE'ing, but nothing major.

I tried Wailing Caverns at 19 or 20 and it was HORRIBLE. I could single target dps, but if I AoE'ed and the jackasses would call for help and then wipe-ola.
I never saw a wild thing sorry for itself. A bird will fall frozen dead from a bough without ever having felt sorry for itself.

I took my mage/mage/pally trio into RFC @ 11 and got WTFPWNT by the first mob...

I went back at 14 and can clear without any problems down to the first trog pit and the 3-pulls there. I'm polishing my macro setup by doing a fight, figuring out what went wrong, and repeating...

A few tips I've come up with.

Focus macro's rock for mages and CC, I'd assume the same could be handy with fear for warlocks.

Target info takes time to travel from 1 box, to the server and back to the other boxes. Be careful with how fast you fire after targeting... I targeted and immediately hit my mage nuke button and watched as both mages nuked different targets than the one I had already agro'd... turned a nice 3 pull into a nice 5 pull...

Mark targets with raid target icons, only the raid leader can do this, however it makes it VERY much easier to track which sheep broke (or fear) etc.

That is because WC is idiotic. Druids that heal themself, put players to sleep for ~10 secs and run for help are bad for 5 boxers. I went to the deadmines because I hate WC so much.

If you guys do a quick search you may come up with better results. Mages have already found many aoe locations for both alliance and hordes. Certain mobs are best suited to aoe and some locations have good number of mobs to aoe.

Yeah Im using the raid Icons now b/c I would try and set focus to fast only to see my pets attack something else and ruin a pull. Im lvl 13 now and its going fairly well cleared upto the first boss and downed him. I droped one of the priest and lvled a lock to meet the group which has made things a little easier.
I really just need to finish my setup the wireless keyboard I think delays some times to long and not being able to see all the lock screens at a glance hurts to. Have them on a KVM till I get my LCDs.
    Well thanks all and later.

lol sounds like what I did. Didnt have all my macros setup. Headed in there at level 12, (1 priest, 4 locks) since the warlock trainer was down there I said "why not". First couple pulls went ok. Then I reached the pulls where 2-3 come at a time, and if its a bad pull more come. I got owned. I just sprit rezzed hearthed back to the cross roads.

At 15 I tried it again wiith a lot more spells, better sheild, heal, fear, drain life etc. Cleared the entire thing np. Even explored and went up the little side paths in there and killed all those things. Hit 16 time I cleared it and turned in the quest right outside the instance.

decided to park them outside and resume tomarrow. Altho I would like to do the one near UC. I forget the name of the place and level but it has the best music in game. Its the only time I turn on my in-game music lol.

Do you guys know which instance i'm talking about? Its between UC and Hillsbrad.
