When I do that I use repeater, so the slaves are not following the master. They just copy whatever the master does. Including turning around running etc

I would roll a 5x mage team in a heartbeat, except...

It's impossible to get any valor points whatsoever because you can't queue them all up at the same time for the dungeon finder.

How do you get gear then (other than BoEs)? Do you have to pug them in two separate groups?

- little questing (to unlock possible dungeon quests)
- grinding the PvP set (its not perfect for PvE but a good start if you got no other gear)
- 346 (+ some 359) faction gear from grinding cata rep
- pick professions that give you some crafted 359 items

And seriously 5 mages are so much fun I rarely worry about gearing them up further...

Have a tank and healer at 85, queue for random dungeon with three mages. Kick healer and tank, then invite your other mages. Problem solved.

I'm pretty sure the other two mages wouldn't get valor points in that case.

I'll have to try it, I'm not logging in much until 4.2 hits. This was just a recommendation from a friend.

To do it this way you would have to either have enough tank types and healer types on your 5 accounts, so that you could form a group twice. One with 3 mages a tank and healer and then another time with a tank and healer on two different accounts from the first set. OR have 7 accounts. a Tank/healer on 6th and 7th to do just this for any other all DPS teams you might have in the future 8)

My mages are 84. Ill need to farm normals to get gear. What gear level is needed to farm BoT trash with 5 mages?
