RIFT multi boxing police

Hey All,

So, since I have been playing ( 2nd last beta ) everyone I have met in game has told me how cool it was that I was MB.
Since the game went live I have helped numerous people achieve quest lines and RIFT because no one else was around / unwilling to help.

I was a happy camper, until tonight, I had someone ask, "So, how many bots do you have?", I replied "No Bots" and left it at that.

Then, they started following me around taking notes via /say and I assume screenshots or video.

This went on for about 30 minutes until I had to give my son his antibiotics( for strep throat ), said good bye to my shadow and logged off. Came back on about 10 minutes later ( after the meds and telling my wife about this bored person ) and got about 10 minutes peace and then they appeared again, followed me for about another 30-45 minutes via /follow.

I logged a ticket with the GM about player harassment because I was MB'ing and left it at that.

Then my shadow ( Rageheal ) said, "thanks I have all the info I need and the offical forums are probably the worst place to report you. Nice to have met you" and abruptly left.

Weird, I figured they had left because they were bored.

Then, I notice a glowing "?" in below my map and click it.

It was a note from the GM saying basically, " I hope we have resolved you issue to your satisfaction. Thank You"

I guess they explained the situation to my shadow.

RIFT GMs are awesome.

Ahaha what a tryhard noob. That is sweet though, I bet that guy made a post thinking he was cool on the forums about you and no one said anything other than "that's not botting, its multiboxing"

Same type of thing happened to me except the person stalking me was tagging my mobs and being very racial with the whole chinese gold farmer crap. Normaly i would ignore it but he just wouldnt stop so i reported him. About a week later i got a ingame email stating how sorry they were and would make it up to me. About 2 days later i logged on and they sent me all the weapon enchant stones that you get from buying the game at the different retailers. It was verry cool of them!

I am certainly impressed by Trion's response to those sad shadows. I am new to MB in Rift, having done it a bit in WoW. I tend to have only 1 or 2 other chars along for the ride, and I like the challenge of casting different skills at the same time.

I have had my share of dealing with people who thought I was botting. Funny how they don't observe you long enough to really see what you're doing.

A guild I'm in has an activity where we each play a single character but the entire guild is doing the same quests at the same level in a raid group, which you can do in Rift (thank god!). It's great fun for bonding and playing together since obviously we have mains at all different levels. But the grief from people who think we're doing something against the EULA and TOS!

I'm very glad to hear that Rift is a reasonable spot for MB.
