Main Dies in a battle

My "main" is a 17.7k health Pally who's sole purpose in PvP is to draw fire from people thinking "kill the brain". Works amazingly well a lot of the time. Chances are, if he dies, the others are soon to follow, so I just roll with it if it happens. Or rez him if the group finishes off whoever is left.

In PvE, he's the main tank as well, so yeah he goes down, they all go down.

depending on your setup... as of v1.8d, you could also use keyclone's PiP to swap your dead main for one of your alts.
(BOOBS extension to be available tonight...)

this way, you can continue playing on the same screen but with a different character as main.

process:

1. main dies
2. curse the gods... swear.. bang desk... (you have <1 sec for this step)
3. hit your PiP hotkey and your desired clone's screen pops in front of you
4. hit your 'set focus to X' key ... setting the new focus for all your clones

5. seek revenge

no mouse movements required.
of course... PiP only works on the local machine
(how the hell would i move an app from one machine to another?! .. and yes, people have asked...)

so is that why keyclone costs 20 bucks now?

I was a bit surprised at that when i DL'ed it on my laptop, but if i can figure out how to do what you've just described, i will be pretty impressed! =P

You only need two macros..

Set Focus Macro
/focus [modifier:lshift] pinotblanc; [modifier:alt] pinotnoir; [modifier:ctrl] shenlong;[modifier:rshift] icewine;pinotgrigio

(you could make it say just mod instead of modifier.. I am too lazy to change it.)

Bind this to a key... I use F9
1. If I press the Left Shift + F9 it makes pinotblanc focus
2. If I press alt + F9 it makes pinotnoir focus
3. If I press ctrl + F9 it makes shenlong focus
4. If I press the Right Shift + F9 it makes icewine focus
5. If I press just F9 it makes pinotgrigio focus

Next macro is the follow macro.
/target focus
/follow

This is bound to my Page Up key. I press that when I want them to follow me. I bound my page down key to have them spread out so its close to the follow.

I am pretty happy with this and it cut the amount of macros and keys I need to bind. If one of your guys dies in battle just change focus with the F9 and modifier and continue nuking.

Not exactly.

I use wowmaximizer manually, not through keyclone, don't exactly know how to use keyclone's maximizer.

I've set up 4 regions on the maximizer tab of keyclone (even set up hotkeys) but cant figure out how to actualy use them.

Personally I use this macro :

/clearfocus
/focus Toon1
/stopmacro [target=focus, exists, nodead]
/focus Toon2
/stopmacro [target=focus, exists, nodead]
/focus Toon3
/stopmacro [target=focus, exists, nodead]
/focus Toon4
/stopmacro [target=focus, exists, nodead]

Basically what it does, if the main character is alive, it will focus him. If he is dead, will focus the 2nd, if first two are dead 3rd, then the fourth.

It doesnt work in some situations, like if the entire party is dead, you must manually /focus the main character.

Works very nice for pvp though, if my main dies, i can switch to my second character and have the clones following him in about 3 seconds.
