    Default 2 Step Confusion

I just typed for 20 minutes and lost it all.

I had to reinstall ISBoxer/Innnerspace today after the patch due to a confusion with multiple locations. Lax helped me get it working again correctly, however before I went to the chat site to talk to him I had deleted and reinstalled once, which lost my key maps I had spent a great deal of time tweaking to work correctly.

I did find an older back up and was able to restore everything (formations, mounting, strafing and other movements) except for my two step set up.

I remember having trouble setting it up the first time, and fussing around with it until it finally started working correctly. However after a few hours I'm having no luck what so ever in getting it to proc now.

Here is what I have done in ISBoxer following these instructions by Mecurio.

If you are using Lax's "FTL DPS Keys" keymap, you already have a "DPS 2" mapped key that simply sends the keypress of a "2" to all windows when you press "2".
Create another mapped key within "FTL DPS Keys" called "2 Step" that is also called when you press "2" but has two steps - the first sends "2" to all windows (exactly as above), while the second step sends ";" to all windows.

Instead of 2 and ; I use 6 and ' for my 2 step macros.
Here is what I have tried:
Under FTL DPS Keys I createda new mapped key called "2 Step". I have nothing selected in the right hand box for Hotkey and all other choices are left at default. I also tried setting the hotkey to 6 in this window, but that didn't work.
Selecting Step 1 in Steps, I created a new mapped key under actions and set the target to all w/ current. I set the key combination to 6 since that is where I have my DPS macro on all my toons. (I also tried leaving all this blank, but that also didn't work).
Selecting Step 2 under Steps, I created a new mapped key under actions and set the target to all w/ current. I set the key combination to ' and that didn't work even though ' is where I have my proc macro set (even though it's on Action Bar 3 spot 1 - which is ALT in game). I also tried setting this to ALT+1 since that is the actual bar and position it sits on my action bars. Neither of these worked.
I tried the above combinations in all ways to see if one would cause the proc to cast. It's easy to see on my mage because the proc is arcane missiles and nothing happens.

So can anyone see what I've done wrong or can suggest what other things I might try?

Now all you need to do is set up a new mapped key in your "Control" key map. I called mine "2 Step Toggle" and associated it with the "Insert" key. It will have two steps in it.
    Step one has 3 actions:
    1) A new mapped key state action (one of the options when you add a new step) that toggles the "DPS 2" mapped key within "FTL DPS Keys" to On
    2) A new mapped key state action that toggles the "2 Step" mapped key within "FTL DPS Keys" to Off
    3) A popup text with a message like "2 Step Turned OFF"
    Step two has 3 actions:
    1) A new mapped key state action that toggles the "DPS 2" mapped key within "FTL DPS Keys" to Off
    2) A new mapped key state action that toggles the "2 Step" mapped key within "FTL DPS Keys" to On
    3) A popup text with a message like "2 Step Turned ON"

That's it! Use "Insert" to turn your toggle on or off.

Attach the sequence macros to your "2" key in WoW and the proc macros to your ";" key in WoW. Done.

MecurioThis part I am pretty sure I have all correct, because when I hit the "insert" key it gives me my popup message of "2 STEP OFF!" or "2 STEP ON!".

    Thanks in advance,

I was thinking that it might be easier if someone wanted to just share their ISBoxer profile with me that already has the 2-step working correctly. I'd open up ISBoxer a second time, choose "Clear ISBoxer Toolkit Profile", choose open, and just go down to the section I needed and copy it to the clipboard in ISBoxer and then paste it into my current good version of ISBoxer.

Any takers? If so you can email it to me at rsaltmarsh@aol.com - please let me know if you have done this so I can check. Thanks!

A two step is pretty easy.

    Create a mapped key.
    Give it a hotkey.
    Give it two steps.
Have it send the first keybind on step 1.
Have it send the second keybind on step 2.

If you want to make it a toggle.
So you can have your normal one step DPS key and have the two step version of the same.
Then you make them both, and they have the same hotkey to activate.
On one of them, check the box (in advanced) to not load one of them at start up.

Then create a toggle mapped key on a different keybind.
    This has two steps.
On one step it enables one of the mapped keys and disables the other.
On the other step it does the reverse.
Keymap Actions > New Mapped Key State Action
And possibly have a Pop Up Text Action, to notify you of which state you're in.
    EverQuest I: Bard / Enchanter / Druid / Wizard / 2x Magician.
    Diablo III: 4x Crusader & 4x Wizard.

    Yeah I did all that.

I posted above all that I tried and none of it worked at all. My "Proc" or step 2 in the process is bound to a macro on the tool bar associated with ALT in the first slot, but associated with the ' key since I don't use that for anything else. In keybindings I have that tool bar, which happens to be RIGHT TOOLBAR 1 and corresponds with ALT set to do ' when key one is pressed.

I'm still futzing around with it to see if I can get it to work, but so far still no luck with all the different combos of what I posted above tried.

Okay - I have it working on my shaman team now. I had to redo my bindings completely, I must have errored over and over again while doing them earlier.

Thanks for the reply Uulaa - it's much appreciated!

Glad you've got it working now Malgor!

I think it takes all of us a while to get set up and working properly the first time through. But definitely worth the effort - once you get it set up, you can run any combination of classes you want and not have to worry much about complex rotations or procs.

    Have fun!
