I prefer melee teams now. mut rogues, retardins (pseudo melee), feral druids, they all rule. It does help to have some way to heal yourself but its nowhere as difficult as some make it out to be. YES, positionals are sucky to try and pull off, but mutilate, mangle, divine storm/ crusader strike aren't positional anymore if they ever were anyway. Its way easier to use non positionals that can be spammed, so try it out sometime.
    /assist
    /follow
in your spammable attack macros are all you really need.
Being able to kill a plate wearer before a cheapshot or pounce wears off is a lot of fun. I havent played a true caster team for about 1.5 months now. I had planned on the druids being moonkins, and for my shamans to be elemental (they are rt now), but I might just switch the shamans to enhance when I start them up again. 10 doggie helpers FTW!!!
Right now I really dont have a desire to play the 5x warlocks or 5x arcane mages, melee is that fun for me. In a week or 3 ill be deciding on when/ if to get wotlk for 5x DKs.

A friend of mine just started dual-boxing with RAF today (doh! forgot to refer him so I could level on one of my accounts with him!), and he's playing a rogue/druid. It's probably my 2nd favorite duo, just behind a paladin/mage.

I've run a couple teams that were all melee (working on all DKs now), and it's not bad at all once you just get used to it. I don't like spec'ing with skills that require positioning (combat rogues are great!), so that becomes a non-issue. The main thing is to keep them grouped close so they're all swinging at the same target.. mobs drop quick. I had considered a paladin/4xrogue team at one point, but switched to 5x rogues. The shaman/4x arms-warrior team was a lot of fun until Bliz changed windfury totem... :/

Now the 5x DKs are the "meat blender" team.

    Currently playing:
    Akama [Empire of Orlando]
    Zandantilus - 85 Shaman, Teebow - 85 Paladin, Kodex - 85 Rogue.

Definitely going to 4-box Diablo 3 after testing the beta for how well this would work.

I have a level 70 rogue that I levelled solo/duo before I started 5-boxing, and after much thinking about how to incorporate him into on of my groups, I just gave up :
He will stay at 70 until I can stick him in some of my other groups and clean instance having him doing nothing (but open boxes, obviously). For instance, when my 4 x Hunter + 1 x Druid team will be geared enough to run level 75-80 instances with a hunter missing, I will stick the rogue in the group, on follow and do a bit of instance farming to level/gear him up.

I added a rogue to my all melee team tonight. working as a slave they miss out on a lot of what they bring to the table. right now haven't made all my macros and keybinds but working as i expected. 5x combo points then expose armor makes the all melee team pound enemies into the ground fast.

ya the rogues do rock quite a bit. The only downside is the amount of macros needed for all their special movies

maybe i need a set of extra keys off the side for this.

Now i do see an advantage of not having to worry about follow mode so much as shadow step seems to work itself out pretty good to line your guys up (at least i sure hope it does) my rogues are finally lvl 30.

one of the cool things in pve is the amount of backstabs one does as rogues. I am just hoping the rogue is the new shaman

I have a duo-DK team that is 80 now. Boxing with melee is definately doable and fun.

I also have a lvl 80 lock and lvl 71 rogue that keep giving me sad puppy eyes when I login to play my DKs. This weekend I plan to team the lock and the rogue up to farm leathers (rogue), greens to DE, and cloths (lock). I will have the lock be the leader but with a Felguard tanking, and have the rouge on follow/assist. I see encounters going like this:

Each number could be a press of the spammable macro/broadcasting key

    1. Send FG and start Shadowbolt/Haunt on lock. Stealth the rogue.

    2. FG taunt skill. Lock drops 2-3 DoTs. Rogue shadowsteps.

    3. Lock starts drain (for Hp or shard) or starts health funnel to heal FG. Rogue backstabs the hell outta the mob.

    4. Change target and let DoTs finish the mob off.
