AOE grinding a 5 team wth out power lvling

All, How many have tried to just AOE grind rep and exp at same time. I know this would only work with some grp makeups but I have found at at War holy priest and 3 mages just make a great aoe grp. War takes hit has he rounds up 25-30 mobs and then blast wave and holyand arc blast until dead. In outland at 67-69, 6 bars in 2.5 hours for all 5. 300exp per mob average average grp 20 (some areas can get 40 , but one mage dies). this grp as just amazed me on how well it can do at aoe take downs while standing in middle of mob

I have had a thought.. how about using a paladin as a tank.. concentration aura, so that the paladin can consecrate and heal himself to hopefully keep aggro on himself saves anyone dying - theorycraft!

My current main grp is an aoe based group. I have a prot pally, disc priest and 3 arcane/fire mages. It works really well. I've run instances with several different groups and this is the easiest and most effective so far. I'm only 60 with them so no tbc experience. BRD was good for me to compare since I've struggled before in there for example with the groups of 3 fireguard destroyers outside the entrance to MC. With this grp It was a joke. Just run in and waste them...wasn't even slightly challenging.

I'm running a 4-mage, 1 prot pally group at the moment. Level 53 as of last night. Ran maraudon last night at 52 and basically didn't even bother healing during the fights. Just run in, consecrate, cone of cold, arcane explosion until dead. On the tougher pulls, lead with avenger's shield (aka frisbee of DOOM) and continue AoE. I can't imagine leveling like this getting much easier. Collection/kill quests are over in minutes. Entire camps just sorta lay down and die.

Yeah I haven't healed per se although I use Holy Nova in with my AE from the mages. I find it the key to what I can do. I can get away with pretty stupid pulls. Can do 2 or 3 trash groups in BRD at the same time (the groups round the detention center for example). I am interested in how you get on in BRD without it and just pure dmg. I am ofc talking about same level mobs or a couple of levels below not powerlevelling. If you can pull off 2 or 3 grps without HN then I tip my hat to you cos I think there is no way I could manage it.

I have not tried this with Prot Pally yet since he is already 70, nice thing about prot war is he is agro holder and round upper. it takes about 2.5 mins to get a grp of 40 on you, tank has to be able to handle those hits. again this is using mounts to round up mobs and argo until first aoe. once aoe hits (blast wave) all argo goes to mages, then arc, holy nova, for the kills. Most of mobs are 67-69, and grp is all 69. Nice way to get arch tombs and fel armor , the easy way

A prot pally doesn't have quite as nice mitigation, however they build a bit more threat on ALL mobs, where as the warrior only has threat on a few. Consecrate > Warrior ...IMO.

Plus the fact that if your health gets low, and your grp hasn't yet got any aggro, you can simply bubble up and heal if the mobs get a bit much.

I leveled 4x mages & a priest prior to patch 2.3 doing almost exclusively AOE grinding in instances. You dont need a tank when you kill that fast.

Able to pull 8-12 elites in LBRS at equal level no problem.

Elites in outland instances start hit a good bit harder, but even that is do-able. Heroic would be a no-go.
