    Default Heirloom acquisiton guide?

I have never bought any heirlooms. I dont even know where to get them. I have noticed head and cape pieces in the guild rewards tab but thats it. Heirlooms were put in the game while i was inactive. With heirlooms soon to be battlr.net account bound, i have been thinking of working toward some pieces for my lower groups.i searched for a guide on here and using google but could not find one. I cant imagine there is no guide about heirlooms consideringhow many guides there seem to be for every aspect of wow.

Is there a guide showing where each heirloom piece is sold and the requiremenets to buy it?

I'm not up-to-date on everything myself but I would start here.

    In orgrimmar:
pve heirlooms is where you turn in your justtice/valor points (chest + weapons)
pvp heirlooms is in the pvp hall where you trade honor tokens for gear (shoulders) + weapons

    Both vendors also have trinkets

    It used to be...

Heirloom Chest, was 40 badges of heroism.
I think this translates in 2,175 current points, someone in trade was saying recently.

The Shoulders were the same price originally, so I will guess also 2,175 points.
But you could also get these from Wintergrasp with marks which were awarded for winning Wintergrasp.
There might be Tol Barad equivalents, not sure.

These function from 1st through 80th level, as far as the experience boost goes.
And the stats scale with level, getting better from 1st to 80th.
Also if you buy Plate Chest, then classes who are plate wearers from 40th and beyond can wear them from 1st to 39th as if they were Mail Armor.

Each of these was a 10% reduction (they say 10% bonus) to experience.
    The math is a reduction.
    Normally need 100% experience, with one you need 90% of normal experience (1.00 - (100 x 0.10) = 0.90)
    But with two you need 81% (0.90 x 0.90 = 0.81).

    There are other heirlooms.
You can get a Ring from the Dalaran Fishing thing, I believe 5%.
You can get a Cloak for 10%, from Guild Rank 12 and decent faction with your guild.

There are also 5% and 10% experience boosts, from guild level.

These all stack with the heirlooms, in the same way.
    IE, multiplication, not additively.
And the Cata ones benefit you from 1st to 85th, not 1st to 80th.

    Wasn't aware of trinkets.

I know there are other BoA heirlooms like 1H weapons or whatever.
No +experience on these, but they are strong items for your level.
Maybe the equivalent of having Blue(rare) gear that is of your level; not the best for your level ever really, but pretty close.

There is a pvp trinket (medallion of the horde), uniquely equipped on 5m cd (honor)
There is a stackable pve one (i.e. you can have it 2x) that heals you up for 2% or regen your mana for 2%.(justice points)

This is how I would go about getting heirlooms as an alternative to needing to spend JPs:

    1. Buy all five alliance or horde faction tabards.
    2. While leveling from 1-60, run dungeons while wearing the tabards and hit exalted for each of the five factions. If you are like me and rolled DKs, you'll have to stick with UBRS initially and wait to start building faction in the normal WOTLK 78-80 dungeons, as BC dungeons do not give rep.
    3. Once you hit 77, run the argent tournament dailies every day to work on your Crusader title. Make sure to choose the coin purse for your reward as they have a 100% chance to give you an extra champion seal. Follow the guide here for the argent tournament: http://www.wowction.com/wow-guides/o...ader-title-wow
    4. Once you get the Crusader title, you should have a nice collection of champion seals on each toon to buy a set of heirlooms for your alt teams.

This method takes approximately 27 days of dailies (about 15 min per day or ~7 hours total) at the argent tournament to get the title and have enough for your first set of heirlooms.

I went this route on my main while single boxing and felt like it was a nice alternative to needing to spend JPs. It all depends on your situation and how many extra JPs you have lying around. Once you have the title, you can continue to get about 17 seals per day and heirlooms cost 60/95 seals each.

Thanks so much for all the helpful replies. I dont know why i wasnt able to find that link myself, Fenril. It was very helpful as a starting point.

By the way, when wougoose says it takes 27 days of dailies to get the argent tournament title and your first set ofnheirlooms, is that three or four heirlooms per toon or per team?

    ---

My second team will probably be 80 tonight. Once i get it to 85 i will have level 85 tanks (dk and pally) on two different accounts, meaning i can powerlevel any account with an 85. I am interested in getting heirlooms to speed up the process. Ideally i would like to have three or four pieces of cloth heirloom armor on each of five accts - whatever the max xp bonus is.

What i would like to do is be able to log in, take four slaves through a dungeon a few times to burn up their rest bonus real quick then relog to do whatever i planned to do. I would cycle through the lowbies each day. In my opinion, the new 1-60 content is fun - 61 to 85 is not. My end goal when i resubbed was to get back into doing bgs. Anything that speeds up the process of getting to 85 is welcome.

    85 is welcome.
Day 1-3: Complete Aspirant dailies to get 15 Aspirant seals

Day 3-7: Complete Valiant dailies to get 25 Valiant seals and become a champion of your first faction.

Day 7-27: Complete Champion dailies to get 9 Champion Seals per day. Also continue completing Valiant dailies until you acquire 100 Valiant seals to become a champion of the other 4 factions. You can also complete H ToC once a day for an extra 3 Champion Seals.

Day 27: You will now have 180 Champion Seals per toon (240 if you did H ToC daily). A full set of Chest/Shoulder/2h costs 215 Champion Seals.

Day 27+: More dailies open up and you can get 14 Champion Seals per day (17 with H ToC).

At this point, you can get a full set of Chest/Shoulder/2h for each toon every ~13 days. If you don't care about weapons and only care about XP gear, ~7 days.
