Default [WoW] 2.4 Mob intimidating shout toned down

    Just noticed this gem:

    http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/patch...atchnotes.html

"Creature versions of Intimidating Shout have been changed to Frightening Shout, and the primary target of the ability is now feared instead of stunned."

This will "trivialize" Intimidating Shout mobs (ex: Champions in SP, Fel Overseers in SL). This will make it possible to handle the 2x champion + soothsayer + enchanter pulls in heroic SP much easier if you do not have poly. And for Fel Overseers this will make it much easier if you do not have viable offtank.

Overall a good change. I hate mob stun abilities since the whole stack dumps agro and moves to #2 just like fear used to.

    Erm...

Isn't that the wrong way around?

Shouldn't it be "target will now be stunned instead of feared"?

I always thought my tank got feared when the target of an intimidating shout, you know, on account of running around everywhere with thwe fear icon on the head. Or is it just me?

When you're the primary target of a creature version of Int shout I believe it stuns you, unlike the player version. If you're tank is running around after an Int shout, he wasn't the primary target and didn't get stunned.

I haven't tried this personally, but I believe the creature version of Int shout that stuns you and makes the mob turn away to bash on the other members of the group is NOT removable by dispel. Hell, I just started playing a paladin myself and haven't had a chance to try it, or even to try and dispel normal fear, but i'm 90% sure that a normal fear effect is dispellabe.

This new change is freaking awsome for anyone that had problems with those fights ziran highlighted. I'm one of the ones that couldn't stand SP trash for this reason. Granted I've learned to deal with it after a few runs, but when I first encountered it it was really difficult.

I am close to 100% certain that my tank is the only one in range of the intimidating shout and the tank goes running around while the pack descends on my priest. Perhaps it does do a stun where your character gets feared but ends up standing in the same place? I've seen that happen a few times.

Yeah, the tank shouldn't move after the mob casts Int Shout. He'll have the fear graphic (the laughing skull) over his noggin, but he'll be stationary.
