Default What is wrong with my FPS!?

    As always, first my setup:

1gig of ram. (I think i have a bad memory slot on the mobo so i am troubleshooting that right now. when i get that bad slot i will have 3 gigs and just leave that one open. I have the four 1 gig sticks) this issue pertains to the good setup with 4 gigs.

Nvidia 8800 GT 512 meg card

    Intel dual core 3.0

Until I get the money to do it right I am currently going for the ever great 5box through keyclone/maximizer. Firstly we all know the issues regarding NVIDIA and XP versus Dual view. Dual view is losing. So horizontal display I will go.

What I am looking for is the main on nice screen, 4 split on other.

However, when I do this I am getting like 7fps on my main and like 13 on my split. I just don't get it. I have looked into so many things and I am really really hoping that it isn't my computer. On paper I figure that my pc is up to par with this. At least from what I have read. I am new so I am wrong.

Now..if I unhook my second monitor and 3 box on my main (just testing things) I hit about 30-50 fps on all 3 clients. Just a thing. I am all confused.

Well my setup is almost the same except I have a Core 2 Quad.

I am not experiencing the kind FPS that I am seeing other people report either but it's not as bad as 7.

Are you using KC's ability to split up your processors? Are you using it to set your maxFPS?

That is the only thing I can think of other than the fact that you have a Dual Core.

Have you run your system manager while running the game to see where the bottle neck is?

still rebooting after work....but I think I have a similar issue when I try to use 2 screens. I run on a 2.8GHz Dual Core (AMD)with 1MB cache/core + 4GB RAM + 1 ATI 1950 on XP64. When I split to the second screen, or even enable the second screen with WoW running, my whole system lags. A friend of mine blamed in on the fact that I am not running SLI. If that's not the problem, I just figured it was some 32 bit run mode issue with XP64...My old monitor now just sits quietly holding my desk down until I have the balls to either fix the issue or am prepared to buy a new system because I break something that is working .

Are your two monitors running in identical resolutions with the same refresh rates?

SLI'ing it won't make jack shit diffrence.

Make *sure* none of your windows are overlapping onto the other monitor.

That often can be a problem.

Thanks a ton on the all of the responces.

I actually foud out what the problem is and in case anybody is having the same issue and while searching comes across this thread I will say what I did.

turns out that one of the 1gig sticks of ram i got. (i have 4) was bad. I have so far narrowed it down to 2, but the 2 gigs that are currently in my computer (in any bank) have my frames up to around 40-55 per client. 20-30 in cities.

So if you buy new ram, don't throw your old ones away until you are sure :P . This ram also caused windows and WoW crashes as well. All as well now, i will just have to settle for 3gigs (two 1 gigs and two 512's) and not 4 gigs. Good thing dumb windows doesn't recognize 4 anyway. Stoopid windows.

The only downside is your ram is now single channel, not dual.

Yeah this is very true. I will get 2 more gigs of ram and replace the 2 i think are bad. In the mean time I am more than happy with what i am running now..for the time being. Anything is better than 7-13 fps
