Hey all,
I'm new to dual-boxing. I just started yesterday. I picked up Keyclone and it works well. I'm really excited at what this will allow me to do.
I noticed a few things that weren't working for me. I looked around on the forums and found some similar problems, but didn't find solutions. First, I have a 5 button mouse and I'd really love to utilize the 2 side buttons. I think I understand correctly that I can't send those 2 side button clicks directly to the clone, but I can map those 2 buttons via the setup/mouse mapping menu to keyboard commands, such as alt1,alt2, which are then sent to the clone. The 2 side buttons are registered as xbutton1 and xbutton2 within Keyclone (I had actually tried to bind shift-xbutton1/2 as well which also registered in Keyclone). When I'm inside WoW however, only the single xbutton1 registers and sends. So that's one issue.
Another problem is the characters randomly running off or standing in place running in circles. I've read other users' threads on this same problem. I'm only using Keyclone, this is 2 accounts on a single machine, and it seems to happen sometimes when I'm not pressing any movement keys. My guess is that this is based actually on available computer resources and key presses getting mixed up or lost in the shuffle due to how key presses are recognized by the computer, but I have no idea.
Lastly, concerning key commands involving alt, ctrl, shift, etc... Was the whole left/right ctrl/alt/shift thing fixed? I'm not sure if it's directly related, but for example when I pressed xbutton1(the only side mouse button that worked), I had mapped it to alt2(which read lalt+2 in keyclone), yet it would send the command 2 (without alt) in game. And also, I had issues with using the white list as opposed to the dnp list when I added alt/ctrl/shift commands(forget which exactly).
Umm, I think that's it for now. It's a really great program, and it's made dual boxing a blast already. If anyone can help that would be great! Oh, and Skarlot, that video of you doing heroic shattered halls is incredible. I would love to hear about/see how you manage your different toons/binds.
Joe
