4/4/11 Forum Permissions Update
For a couple of years now we required new members to post 5 times in the first section of the site before they were given access to the other sections. Today I reverted that and once again brand new users will have access to every forum "member" ranked users have.
The reason for this is because the recent anti-spam changes we've made have worked quite well. We still have spam as some of you likely see, but it's cut down tremendously lately.

Good try but I don't think it's working.
There seems to be an increase in spam.
Working on the following teams:
(85) - PVP - Holy Paladin, Holy Priest, Resto Druid
(85) - Paladin tank, cat druid, fire mage, demon lock, holy priest
(80) - Dk tank, destro lock, bm hunter, enh shaman, holy priest
(85 pally/lock) powerleveling 34 toons under 70

Nah the spam you guys saw was just because there wasn't anyone around at the time. That's nothing in the grand scheme of spam. Also the requiring 5 posts was never a spam prevention method, it was much more to limit the areas that *could* be spamed. Now that spammers can spam any forum they want, they can (and are) doing it in the most visible forums.
