Default Priest + x4 DK in BGs

Currently my guys are level 84 and I'm rocking in AV weekend.

I'm having a blast destroying the alliance. Although the priest is a bit squishy, it works to my advantage. My priest is a large troll, while the DKs are all short goblins. Everyone immediately focuses the priest, which allows me to dodge/ juke and hide while my DKs kill everyone.

If I get into trouble, I have a ohshit macro that will keep my priest alive.

I do have a question for those that also play this combination. Which is better, Holy or Discipline?

Is there a good PvP spec you recommend for either?

Also, I was considering stopping my experience and just playing the 80 - 84 bracket. Or should I just move on to 85?

I don't really have plans to do arena yet.

iam ~83 atm. I play Dwarf priest (because stoneform) and human DK.
In my eyes visual conspicuity is more important then racial skills.
Best example: try to get the 2 noggenfogger buffs (mini and skeleton) and you wont get noticed.
I consider to switch with my priest to gnome with noggenfogger i will get nearly unvisible
Imagine, 4x Army of Death ... then you ARE unvisible.

With my shaman team i never run w/o noggenfogger in bgs, its such a great camouflage.
Atm i dont have a lot of PvP experience, but i noticed very often focus on my fat dwarf priest too. Maybe due he is my main.

lvl 84 toons will always dominate in the 80-84 bracket because there is such a crazy stam boost over this range. I think you will probably get more honor per hour by getting to 85 though and doing randoms so I would probably recommend this.

I have tried both disc and holy for this setup and like holy best. Saying that, I tried disc in 4.0.3 before the shield buffs. Both specs have excellent healing output and variety. If anything I think disc is probably better with the shields from crits and grace. Holy is slightly better for mana regen and chakra is interesting but not really a game breaker.

What makes me love holy are 2 things which really shine in arena but are handy for BGs also. The first is guardian spirit. When teams focus me I will hit this, pop up a renew and all of my instant heals (except desperate prayer) and let the focus me down. Normally I will time this right that at about 6-7 seconds duration, I would normally die but I get the free spirit heal for 50%. At this stage I shield up, sprint off and hit desperate prayer to get back to 100%.

I like this better than penance because some groups will get fooled into thinking I am going to die and switch to a new target and the bonus healing overall just seems a lot greater.

The other great talent is spirit of redemption. In some cases in arena, I will heal more in spirit form than I do alive.

Either way, priest makes a versatile healer and will be successful in either spec. Try both of them out and see what suits your playstyle best.

I'm running disc in my setup and loving it. I'm almost 84 on the group.

I've setup a system on my priest that I really like. First game after setting this up I go wrecking ball on 3/4 Dk's and 1 missed it by a kill before we finally got killed .

I use the fairly common setup that is posted press 1 key send 5-6 keys on release press a key.

Keypress 2 = send 2-7 on ALL toons, and on up send 2 on all toons.
I won't go into the DK button layout most people already know this.

Macro 1: This is on my priest #2 key
    Code:
    /castsequence [@focus] Prayer of Mending,Prayer of Mending
    /cast Prayer of Healing
    /cast Shadowfiend
    /petattack
    /cast inner focus
    /cast power infusion
    /stopmacro [channeling]
    /stopmacro [harm,nodead]
    #/targetenemy (for pve)
    /targetenemyplayer (forpvp)
    slots 3-6
    Code:
    /cast [@DKNAME] Power Word: Shield
    slot 7
    Code:
    /cast [@player] Power Word: Shield
I basically run around with the priest picking kill targets mashing my #2 button. This round robin shields my group and tosses POM on my focus (I usually start the game just picking a random DK to focus).

I then have a few macros setup on my vuhdo for when pressure gets going on a toon. I manually pennace, drop fear bombs, etc..
My vuhdo healing macro for flash heal has /focus [@mouseover]. This will switch that dk to be the one who gets POM.

If I stop moving on the priest it will cast prayer of healing. I've debated adding renew to the round robin, but that will increase my mana usage. I just set this up, so I'm still tweaking it.

I would think Holy while gearing up, and Disc once you have a bunch of healing stats.
The resiliency will help either spec a lot.

    Holy is better healing.
Disc is superb mitigation, but the latest patch has increased the cost of spells such that at lower gear levels (fresh 85), they cost a disproportionately large amount of mana versus what you gain back through talents such as when the shield is dispelled or pounded through.

    With gearing, for PvP...
Disc has much better tools, no question.
Holy has Spirit of Redemption for free healing, after your lead toon has died.
    EverQuest I: Bard / Enchanter / Druid / Wizard / 2x Magician.
    Diablo III: 4x Crusader & 4x Wizard.

Once you hit 85 plan on your priest getting crushed! Until my priest got 3000+ res it was brutal. Now that he has full pvp gear I can survive attacks in the BG's. Now I actually enjoy using the priest over the pally in Bg's for the mass dispel. Just be aware that you will get ass raped until you get enough gear to survive at 85. Power through it and you will be rewarded at the end.

That's how it always is when you ding max level 1/2 into an arena season.

As long as you focus 15-40 man Bgs you should be ok, at least in 40 man you can just chillax and pick your fights

I got 85 this weekend and was able to get my 5 arena wins, and then did a couple random bg's and didn't have as many problems as I thought I would. I'm running the priest as holy in arenas till I get more gear.
