It's very easy to switch the tracking from ores to herbs and vice versa. Plus, they usually dont spawn in the same areas (ok some herbs spawn in the mountains but who cares if you miss a few of them).
After some time you'll know when to track herbs and when to track ores.
If you dont want both, take mining thorium still sell very very well, sometimes better than BC ores.
