    With PvE to PvP transfers...
Or low population to medium/high population realms, as realms die off or are merged...
I can see the need for this service.

But, there's little chance everyone in a guild will move, if the costs remain the same.
My last PvE guild (which broke up, during Ulduar raiding) probably averaged one raider per player, but ten of the thirty semi-regular raiders had two or three toons they could bring.
And with the exception of a few players who only played one toon, most of us had four or five alts.
And while I was the only boxer, I was not the only person with more than two accounts.
    EverQuest I: Bard / Enchanter / Druid / Wizard / 2x Magician.
    Diablo III: 4x Crusader & 4x Wizard.

Well... Im on a small low pop realm, used to be on a high pop realm, and this will hurt smaller pop realms, and even if not everyone in your guild can afford or want to pay too transfer, if the guild leader wants too go with the guild he/she will.

Im hitting my head into my keyboard over this... Ive wanted this feature when we started raiding and kicked out a member and his goons followed and left with him, which was a good thing, but too rebuild, reform has been beyond painful and left us stuck at 9/12 ever since.

Lucky I have affiliations with the top Horde guild on my realm, and their 2nd team is a mix of 4 of my guildies, 4 of theirs I think and 2 regular pugs, but we need too replace some of them off and on, and we are making progress clearly 9/12 now again finally, but the achievements etc doesnt go towards my guild.

So we want to leave and go back to our home large pop realm, but with all my toons I have.. x5 boxed, x4 mages, 1 priest at 85, x2 85 Hunters, 85 druid, 80 rogue, 83 DK, loads of old 80s I use for various things, then we have my fiances 6 or so toons and my daughters 3, it would cost far to much and I need most of the toons

Now I am unsure whether to start my 2nd team on other realm we "might" transfer too when they release this Guild Transfer stuff and take our mains, and 1 other and slowly move my boxers over or what... Damn it.

We like to raid and low pop realm are great for many different things especially the AH, I make if I wanted too easily 25k+ a week without much effort in just Glyphs alone and thats just listing them 1-2 times max a day, so thats handy too feed my alts with ease.

Least on a high pop realm we can pug fill with decent players as needed and recruit easier being level 12 guild then by starting fresh and being level 1.

Love this feature added, just wish it was announced earlier.

They shouldnt be charging for this to begin with. It should be free, with a cooldown.

This service is probably automated. Its not like they copy your info onto a floppy disk and carry it to another building or state. How many times have you transfered and it says 1 hour but its done within a couple minutes. Someone isnt hovering over a keyboard at blizzard hq waiting for people to xfer.

People i played with a long time ago started back up. Id like to be back on their server but its a different faction, making it twice as expensive.
    Working on the following teams:
    (85) - PVP - Holy Paladin, Holy Priest, Resto Druid
    (85) - Paladin tank, cat druid, fire mage, demon lock, holy priest
    (80) - Dk tank, destro lock, bm hunter, enh shaman, holy priest
    (85 pally/lock) powerleveling 34 toons under 70

No one ever thinks of the man hours that go into such tasks, but I'm sure it took longer than 8 hours to design an entire guild
transfer system -- automated or not. While Blizzard is allowed to charge money for a service they created, without a monetary
amount attached to the service... what would make you believe it wouldn't be abused by every troll that hates the man and
thinks it would be funny to load up the queue to just piss everyone else off who are attempting to use the new system in a
    legit way?

This new Guild Relocation Service doesn't seem like it was necessarily built for someone with their multi-tab, level 3,
multiboxing alt guild. This looks to me like it was intended to be a special, or elite, service which is going to cater only to those
that truly require it or only to those who feel like paying the fee.

I should have clarified my post. I meant to say that character transfers should be free on a cooldown.

Choice of realm greatly impacts the satisfaction people get from the game. There are many reasons to transfer. Examples include:

Rolled on a pvp realm. Got to level XX and just cant take it anymore.
Rolled on a realm with IRL friend. Friend quits wow. Other IRL friend plays on another server.
Rolled on a pvp realm. Find out at level XX that the ratio is 8:1 and youre on the 1 side.
Rolled on a pve realm. Decide at level XX that you want more excitement.
Rolled on any given realm Years later the server become underpopulated for your faction or for both.
Rolled on any given realm. The latency becomes an issue with your new isp. You picked one four time zones away because prime raiding time there coincided with your schedule.

Reasons against free xfers like 'everyone knows im a shitty tank or a ninja or a healer who watches music videos while doing instances so ill just get my free xfer and find new fools' are invalid now with the LFD system.

Server/realm is the blizzard side of the equation. Im not saying you should get to change things on your end like name, faction or class wiithout a cost. But something that can affect your enjoyment of the game the way a server can should not incur a cost to fix.

All character copy's and moves are in the real world are database stored procs.

Seriously I wish I got paid $25 everytime I executed a stored proc lol.

Its a great thing they are going to implement, be interesting to see how they actually do go about it.

They really should allow free transfers off low pop dead realms, or merge smaller realms together, not all but put some together, some people prefer to be on a small realms, others are stuck on it for various reasons.
