Default Mixing the teams up, can I do it ?

So... I have 4 arcane mages and a holy priest, and I can ditch the priest and use my other mage and take it too 5, fun in BGS..

Now As I learn as I go more and more, we my fiance and I use the 3 mages and the priest in dungeons, going well, but its not the long term plan for me.

Its to fully learn to solo and control my team myself which is too include my own pally tank thats level 81 atm.

I still have RAF so next team of 4 I want to make is 2 boomies, 1 of the druids will be my fiances when Raf has gone, but I can always use it as needed.

I plan to make 2 boomies 1 warlock, I have a 80 shammy somewhere, need to sort through the accounts and see whats where to be more organised.

Now that I have learnt about Mercs 2 step macro I feel the next team should be mixed team, I do not use melee in my teams because I dont understand how hell you can control example a tank, a melee at same time, can someone enlighten me on that ?

Or I guess I could just make x4 of everything too burn RAF and then look at mixing the teams after RAF has gone, as getting 1-60 is no problem with RAF and my fiance just hammers any dungeons I need repetitively with me too take advantage of the speed levelling through RAF.

What do you suggest, make 4 of everything then pick what I want too mix and match ?
Definitely want a mixed team now I can use that 2 step macro thats for sure!!

I would have liked a kitty dps as I have an 85 druid but atm its doing nothing and like I said I dont comprehend how you can mulitbox a melee, a tank rest casters etc at same time even with 2 step macro, as you wuld lead on the tank ?? ANd then manually posiiton the kitty/melee dps ? Example how you guys do it please ?

    Hey man,

I'm not sure if your goal is PvP or PvE.

For mixed teams the best you can do is grab casters. The setup i would suggest is:

    Protection Paladin
    Holy Priest
    Arcane Mage
    Elemental Shaman
    Boomkin

All the classes have great buffs, and really add a good role in your team. Also with the classes listed above you will use every type of armor (cloth, leather till 40, mail and plate).

5 mages are a lot of fun. I played 4 mages and a priest and felt terrible that i didn't add a fifth mage. They are great in BGs, not so good in arena but you could pull off your 5 wins per week i think.

You have RAF anyways so i would suggest playing the mixed team from scrap. Look up a good PvE build for your toons and search a rotation. You can then make a macro you can spam to deal damage. Here is an example for your mage:

    #showtooltip
    /cast racial here
    /cast 13 (first trinket)
    /cast 14 (second trinket)
    /cast Icy Veins
/castsequence Arcane Blast, Arcane Blast, Arcane Blast, Arcane Missiles

Melee teams aren't that hard. I enjoy my melee team FAR more than I enjoyed any other team I'd run. Interact with target and click to move are the keys to making melee work.

First, enable interact with target {you'll want an additional key on top of the one you use for interacting with questgivers etc} and click to move on the melee slaves.

Next set up a normal break follow key. This will allow you to drop the slaves off while your tank can go pull.

Third, go into Jamba and set up a tag to separate your melee from your healer, tank and/or ranged. I simply use "melee". This will allow you to use various Jamba commands that only effect your melee slaves, specifically a follow command. I add this command to my pull key on my tank

    Code:
    /cast Avenger's Shield
    /cast Hand of Reckoning
    /startattack
    /jamba-follow master melee
This allows me pull without having my slaves trailing behind me the whole time, getting in the way, as well as avoiding the over run or random running away that happens when slaves have to run long distances into a moving mob that comes with Interact with target.

I also use it to set up follow after combat, allowing me to have my melee slaves automatically follow my tank again after combat ends {preventing random runaways} while leaving my healer where she is so I don't have to set up all over again for the next pull.

Next you will want to go back to the melee only interact with target key. There's two schools of thought with it.

Some people spam interact with target. Spamming it will lead to slaves running around like chickens with their heads cut of and seems a very popular choice in PvP, as it makes it harder for opponents to lock onto your slaves. If you want to spam IWT, you can build it into your ISBoxer steps.

Other people use it sparsely. This seems to be the best option for PvE, as you don't want your slaves running around getting stuck on things or worse, pulling other mobs. You can also build this into your ISBoxer steps or you can control it manually. I control it manually by having my slaves IWT mapped to my Tab key {"tab-targetting" is remapped to one of the buttons on my Naga}.

And that's all there really is to it.

If you still have RAF, level up a lot of combinations.
Doesn't matter if you plan to use a class now...
    They'll be an option later.

You can also level alts up, as an army of alchemists.
Every expansion there is a cooldown transmute which will make you gold.
I'm close to +400,000g in Cataclysm, basically from transmuting Volatile Life into Volatile Air, daily with 34 transmute characters.
    It all adds up.

    In particular, I've enjoyed:
    - Paladin Tank, Demo Warlock, 3x Elemental Shaman.
    - 5x Feral Druid
    - Paladin Healer, 4x Frost/Blood (Dual-Spec) DK's.
    - 5x Holy Paladin
    - 1x Disc Priest, 4x Warlock (bounce between Demo and Affliction)
    - 1x DK (Blood), 4x Elemental Shaman.
    - 1x Disc/Smite (Priest), 1x Resto Shaman, 1x Feral Druid (Tank), 1x Frost Mage, 1x Demo Warlock

Some of those teams have overlapping characters.
With Cataclysm, I shuffled my teams a little...

The Ferals were max level but unplayed really in WotLK as a unit.
The Pally (From Team A) became healer for the DK's.
The 5x Pallies are hordies, leveled from scratch without RAF.
    EverQuest I: Bard / Enchanter / Druid / Wizard / 2x Magician.
    Diablo III: 4x Crusader & 4x Wizard.

Couple solo toons I have worked on lately that I never thought of as being good class/spec are a rogue and a feral druid. both tear things up with no downtime. Helps the kitty is 63 now, but farming turtles was one shot and I caught a 71 hunter AFK and killed him before he go up to speed. The rogue has has a ton of oh-s**t tricks, hard to kill it.

Interesting, definitely will look into that more very soon.

Im going to hit 85 on my team today, so weekend is when we plan too burn some raf, plan is too burn it every weekend until it expires so we always refers to my fiance spamming my miniature army through dungeons too power then too level while raf exists.

Thx for tips advice everyone. There is always so much to do, raided past 2 nights on my main so lost some levelling time on the team, and Atramedes was bugged so we couldnt down him, damn it.
But weekend is here, so alot of play time too come

Havent made a melee team yet, stil have RAF so I need to start to get cracking on additional toons as more I experiement using with 3 mages and priest or 4 mages I realise I need more sometimes, in my grp to mix it up.

Only thing right now stopping me from making more sets is we are unsure if we will stay on the realm we are on, we want too transfer when guild transfers are implemented tho whether do is another story as cost is too great to move ALL my toons, fiances toons and our daughters toons... not really justifiable and I certain dont want too start batches all over the place again. Too time consuming.

    Tough decision then.

RAF them on the current/old server.
And they are toons that would also have to be moved.

RAF them on the newer server.
And... there is no gold at the moment to fun the team with.
Plus... if you don't move then these are stranded on the new server.

    Thats right on Ualaa.

$25 a pop for a toon xfer isnt much for 1 or 2 but when we are talking about 20+ thats a different story, we did think about moving just the mains to raid, as mains are raiders and progression is halted basically on the stupid realm we are on.

Pity blizzard doesnt give/provide true discounts on mass moved toons lol.

    Talk to billing.

Blast3r did, and in a fairly recent post I believe Blizzard offered her the ability to move two toons at once for the price of one paid character transfer.
The thread would be either in the Magtheridon or Kil'jaedin guild specific forums on this site (The Zerg or Legion of Boom), most likely started by her possibly just including her posts.

Half price is a huge discount on that many toons.
But it is still a hefty price tag.
