Default Project Triki - 4 Hunters

Just thought I'd share that I am currently in the process of working on a 4x Hunter project to prove their viability in the area of PVP specifically. I plan on accompanying Ellay's sexy shaman videos with some Hunter love

I named my hunters appropriately for confusion to the opposing team:

    Triki
    Tríki
    Trikí
    Tríkí

    An interesting fact while researching:
    - Ferocious Inspiration (BM Talent) STACKS. With 4x BM Hunters, there is a 12% damage increase to the party when all are up (3% x 4). Interesting eh?

My initial plan is to gear up with S1 and head to the arena and practice, practice, and more practice. All 4 hunters will be BM. Traps will deal with melee, pets will annoy mages/locks/shamans, Beast Within will deal with locks or priests coming in for the fear...and all of this will be while the hunters are constantly putting the pain on a single target. I'll have to immobilize the target as much as possible with proper use of concussive rotations and intimidation to avoid LOS issues. It will take lots of practice, yes, but I have hope and am up for the challenge

    Hunters level currently: 40 - 17h played

More information to come as I progress...

Seems like a really sweet idea. Can't wait to see how you fair @ 70! If arena doesn't work out for you, then you have a farming powerhouse group to use!

I am currently leveling up 2 shamans to replace the 2 I lost as well as 2 hunters with an eye towards doing 2 more later down the road.

I think that you should seriously consider Wind Serpents at 70 for the Arena, or at least give them a test drive. Their ability lightning breath scales pretty well and one issue I can see with multiple hunters is the other team kiting them behind pillars to kill them. With range they will prove more difficult to kill and put out some pretty respectable ranged DPS if you focus them on one target. If you lock them up on the primary healer that person is going to have some pretty serious issues.

have you thought to have one or two spec into MM? or even deep into SV for Expose weakness...

scatter shot will deal with sneaky druids and rogues, and also to get some distance to warrior and enchant shammy, also will shot off mages that like AoE or pries closing in with fear bomb
silent shot will really help with casters total obliteration : )

and get few boars with charge (scatter replacement when you are CC)

    1. if I would of been in your place I would spec them all in MM, first improved sting and x4 Vipers on healer.... and having Silents on rotation can shot of healer until he is dead, at least I think in theory.
    2. don't forget about Mortal shot where there two healers, which is always.
    3. shot multi if you know you will hit three+ enemies, having it in macro with trinket boosting AP and gladiator glove and talents won't hurt. 1.5~1.7crits are nice followed by Arcanex4... ouch
    4. obviously FOCUS macro and learn switch between any of them on the fly, because if one of them targeted better engage him in some CQC with wing clip and kite outside 5yard deadzone of others might prove useful.
    5. traps... expecting rogue/druid plant Explosive/snakes traps with lots of flares, expecting suicidal shadow priest/mage I think freezing traps will work better, but who know, better experiment, I seen snakes traps worked on pallys, lol
    6. ImpHawk barely procs with MM, but better in BM, AoMonkey works wonders against rogues/druids,
    7. FIND MACRO TO DRINK INSTANTLY as drop agro, drink, shadowmeld(NE)
    8. hunters more of sustained DPS with little pool of mana, basically know your weaknesses, don't let other team drain your mana, don't stay in one place, don't get beaten up, you are not a tank, find a way to burst SS,MS / MS,AS, when you are on a run Stings and AS all the time
    9. Imp Concussive shot might prove more reliable times 4, better make it rotational macro, like Silent and Scatter shots rotational macros
    10. Use one of following spam macros, (still need modification to work with global FOCUS for switching main hunters)
    MAIN DPS SPAM 1:1
    /assist [noharm] pet
    /stopmacro [noharm]
    /cast [exists,target=pettarget] Kill Command
/castsequence reset=1 Steady Shot, !Auto Shot
    /script UIErrorsFrame:Clear()

    MAIN DPS SPAM 2:3
    /cast [target=pettarget, exists] Kill command
    /cast !Auto Shot
    /cast Steady shot
    /script UIErrorsFrame:Clear()

    2:3 = 2auto shots:3steady shots,
for example: auto shot, steady shot, steady shot, auto shot, steady shot.
so if you clip an auto shot you get a steady shot back to back therefore not waiting for the auto shot cooldown. so you get 5 shots instead of 4.
for some hunters it have considerable DPS increase for increased mana consumption.

and make separate macro for petattack, maybe with charge and recall pet build in, no I don't have example, never got to it, I just know it possible.

believe it or not, following will call your pet back and select pets target he just fought,if you didn't had anything targeted at all. It is perfect for calling your pet back by clearing your target and using this macro
    /assist [noharm] pet
    /petpassive [noexists]

I wonder if adding something like that could break it, or add more functionality
    /petattack [pettarget, noexists]

    or just have
    /petattack
    /stopmacro [harm]
    /assist [noharm] pet
    /petpassive [noexists]

    or even better...
    /petattack
    /stopmacro [pettarget, exists]
    /assist [noharm] pet
    /petpassive [noexists]

actually I don't know which one will work under all circumstances, but for now add following macro for your own good

AND MY LAST MACRO I USE ALL THE TIME
/castsequence [nopet] reset=3 Call Pet, Revive Pet; [target=pet, dead] [nopet] Revive Pet; [pet, combat] Mend Pet; [pet] Mend Pet(Rank 6)
    /stopcasting [pet, target=pet, nodead]
    /cast [pet, nocombat] Feed Pet
/use [pet, nocombat] Smoked Talbuk Venison

FAIL PROOF revive (some cases need to pressed twice)
instant heal with best heal in combat,
and out of combat casts cheaper heal and feed with one press
Talbuk Venison have to be changed for type of food your pet eats

Sorry from listing all the tips I could think of I turned it into macro building brainstorm...
    hope it was useful XD

ByTheWay Pets can be used as secondary FOCUS as

/assist [noharm] pet --will work only if you don't have a target already, with global Focus macro you should target your pets targets any ways...

    or

/cast [target=pettarget] silent shot --don't know if this one will work tho

I bet non of others though about it before :-P
I will go explore this concept even more XD

PS: another macro I just thought, but didn't tested it yet.
/petattack [pettarget, noexists] --wonder if this going to work
    /petpassive [pettarget, exists]

I'm no expert, but IMO the money spec would be 41 in Beast Mastery for the Beast Within. Immunity from fear bombs for 18 secs. (since hunters can't be undead for WOTF). Four big red pets on the healer and focus on a single target with the hunters should get 2 down right quick. If it doesn't work out in arena, there's always AV.

I think hunters might be my next project.

Yeah I am planning on 41/20 for the main purpose of avoiding fear/ cc. Not to mention the stacking damage bonus from Ferocious Inspiration . BM should also make it a little easier to manage over using MM or SV as I have less things to worry about (silence rotations/etc).

Only testing will really tell what works and what doesn't, but I'm personally going with BM first

I would make 5 BM hunters , other side winds up , feak death, then unload , 5 defs, 5 MCS, 5 pets , make pets all Ravengers they are great for pvp. sounds fun , but not having a healer will start to suck

I was messing around with just 2 hunters for awhile and got them to lvl 23. It was super ez mode with the hunters pawning all the quest they did. But your right, it would defently help to have some kind of healing class with them.

A little food for thought for the multi hunters if you get bored. 41 points SV talent readiness. multiple times stuff is the point of boxing but what about Multishot volley, readiness, multishot volley 2. or 10 times snake trap/ explosive/ w/e trap not to mention getting that 2nd round at rapid fire 10x wyvern sting!?!? Could be hilarious if nothing else just to see the look on someones face when they pop 8x snake trap.

I have a 70 hunter that does this in mostly vengeful (Genocyde on Hellscream) i love seeing multishot crits well over 3k back to back with readiness that would be scary on 3 targets x 4-5 multishots x 2 :!:
