When I try to open up a 4th WoW on my computer, I get this error. Sometimes I get it when opening the 2nd and 3rd too, but if I keep at it, it will open. 4th one won't open for anything though. All 4 WoW's are in their own folder.

Opening port 3724 on the firewall seems to do the trick. Why I can open 1 window and have a problem with 4, and what that has to do with the firewall, is beyond me. But it works now, thx.
Maybe it was half open, just not open wide enough for 4 of em... harhar :/
Seriously, no idea tho![]()
as an aside... anyone on this site should really not be using software firewalls, as they impact performance. instead, you should be using a hardware firewall. far less trouble, and more reliable. the packets coming from the net attempting to infiltrate your system don't even hit your IP stack, therefore protecting you.
anti-virus is a different problem and is not required while you are in game. anti-virus only matters when you are surfing the net, downloading software, or getting email (same as downloading software)
personally, i've been swearing by netgear equipment for years. currently, i have a wireless firewall for my external firewall (for my neighbors to use.. encrypted psk of course. wep == crackable) and my internal firewall (only i have access there). both are switches and both use nat.
