Default Been MultiBoxing DAoC for a week now..........impressions.

Ok, so after making the investments in the hardware, I have been multiboxing DAOC classic servers for a week now. I must say that it's brought back a lot of fun into the game.

I initially had 4 computers and a Vetra USB, but just ordered an 8 Port PS2 from Vetra and having it overnighted to make playing my 5th machine easier. It's not easy figuring out how to map keys in each character and keeping track of who goes where and does what, but I'm adjusting. Here are some of my experiences so far.

I have been reported 3 times that I know of. Once of which one of my characters was teleported to a tower and this floating gem was talking to me.........I'm assuming a GM. Once I said "whoa I was teleported", he said "thank you for responding" and left.

I had a nice long conversation with a CSR last night about my multiboxing (I reported myself), and they said that what I was doing was not illegal from a game perspective, but they said "We do not encourage the use of any software or hardware that gives players an unfair advantage over others." After explaining that I'm 100% hardware with 5 computers, 5 monitors, 5 mice, 5 keyboards, a KVM and a broadcaster, he said that I should send a "Grab Bag" question to the Camelot Herald to see if I get feedback. I also asked if there were any records of that conversation as well as the times I have been reported so far, and they said that detailed reports are kept of any appeals made by me or about me. He said that when the GM teleported me before, it was due to someone saying I was "botting".......which of course I'm not.........and why I only got the response "Thank you for responding" and he left.

Other times, I have people logging into their Hib accounts just to call me a zit-faced teenager with no life that never has felt the touch of a woman, and will never do anything but play video games and never have any friends....... So nice. But the fact that I'm 31 with a wife and son, have a successful .NET developer job, and thankful to have enough resources to have my 5 boxing setup, it makes me chuckle.

I've been called a "Team Wizzy" wannabe. I find it amazing how well known Jay is for what he did even though he's not on classic servers. lol

I get this tell a lot "Chinese?". LOL I say "No.......white guy in Arizona"...... that usually brings that conversation to an end quickly.

Game wise.........it's a lot of fun. I have 4 enchanters and a bard up to 45 so far. I have about 100 kills under my belt, and anxious to get more. I die a LOT. I'm working on formations and spreading out because AOE kills me fast. So now when I come up on someone, my 4 followers stop, and spread out in a line formation, all assisting me and all out of AOE range.........pretty fun stuff. I get a kick out of seeing the formation stuff on my screen even when I'm doing it.

So just like others that multibox......I'm waiting for a ban to come down that is uncalled for. Depending on that day, I may just have to move to WoW.

Anyhow, thanks for all the help on this site and those that have made the contributions that make people like me interested in doing the multiboxing.

Ha! I sometimes miss playing Daoc. It just wasnt much fun to play once all my friends left for WoW.

What part of Arizona are you in? I'm in Fountain Hills.

Yeah, a lot of mine left too, but there are still a lot of people that play the game. A lot have come back from WoW too (including me).

    I'm actually in Chandler.

Are YOU a chinese gold farmer? :P

DAOC is a challenge to multibox in. I ran 3 runemasters in pvp not that long ago and the CC and kiting requirements in that game are much tougher than WoW by far.
I never saw a wild thing sorry for itself. A bird will fall frozen dead from a bough without ever having felt sorry for itself.

hehe Havent quite reached the gold farming stage on my shamans, though I already had five 70s before I started multi-boxing.

RvR is what I miss the most. I dont think Id want to multibox it though, pvp was pretty hectic in Daoc. Any plans to try Warhammer?

yeah I appealed myself with 3 trial accounts and the CSR said that what I was doing could be considered a bannable offense, and to submit a grab bag question.

I figure, what the hell my daoc accounts are just rotting away, worst case scenario they ban me. Teamwizzy did it for years, I dont think they are going to nock us out.
