I know we have a lot more Multi-boxers out here who love to PvP and are not Shamans ~
Was hoping to find out your results in Arenas. Hunters / Warlocks / Priests should definitely be viable - stories or your records would be goodLet's hear em'!

5 Undead Shadow Priests (also tried them as 3 disc/holy, 2holy/disc). Woefully undergeared, but I managed to win a few arena games usually via the "shock and awe" strat. Charge in guns blazing and try to drop their healers fast then deal with the dps. Priests are very squishy and dropped very quickly once their dps picked a target. Frost Nova, improved blizzard, and shadow/magic resistant folks are your biggest problems. CLoS rogues who were geared hurt me bad. Ithink my arena ecord with them thus far is like 6-45. Granted, for 80% of those games I played all 5 myself. I played 6 or so games with a pally, but I never won any of those games.
BG's are friendlier due to the lack of healing, and fear bombs on flags/bosses is great stuff, but getting those elite mobs on you (especially fear bombing the aid station flag) means you are most likely dead. DoT's are too expensive mana-wise, but are great in BG's like AV where guys just run by you. BG's like AB are a bit rougher since you have to focus on holding the flag and that leaves you more stationary than you'd like to be with 5 clothies who can fight on the run. EOTS (the best multiboxer BG IMO) will work great for any boxer, but it leaves more room for movement for the boxing priest and is far superior to AB for honor. My record in EOTS is around 35-4.
In the end, I wanted to be more successful in arena to be able to gear up faster, so I rolled a shammy group, but with a twist (I have them led by a Panzerkin druid for instances and leveling...not gonna use the druid in arena).
I never saw a wild thing sorry for itself. A bird will fall frozen dead from a bough without ever having felt sorry for itself.
Gonna have to say its a negative here too on Priests. All my 70 experience is from PTR. My 'live' priests are only 60. Here is the reason why Shamans work so well, if you get charged by melee, you drop 4 or 5x Fire Nova. That will kill or almost kill just about anyone. Its hard to 'rush' a Shaman team. If you stay at range you can also aoe to an extent - so you are deadly on all fronts.
Priests biggest letdown is SW Pain costs retarded and I mean RETARDED amounts of mana. Your spammable channeled nuke has a 24 yard range with talents. Mind Blast has a cooldown, SW Death has a very big cooldown. And you are sooooooo squishy. Also PbAOE fears are hard to do as the range is so tight.
I'm also continuing one with my Shaman team, the team I intended to play before even finding this site and seeing one of Xbox's videos. Wasted a fair few months - but I have a 60 Pally and I love Pally tanks so I will finish him. Have a 70 Shaman waiting for the other four to catch up.
I think Mages are viable - pure frost ones - for massive shatter combos mainly - but you would have to be fucking awesome and probably only play 4 of them and have a druid healer with cyclone.
4x Hunters maybe as well, but also extremely complicated.
Looking for another class to focus your attention on Ellay?![]()

I am looking to roll another group, to add to the excitement![]()
Hunters / Warlocks though should be insanely potent, and still interested to hear how Druids work out - due to being able to dictate the fight via stealth and elemental of surprise.

I've fought a priest/4 lock group in arena from my server and lost to him, but to be fair he said he wasn't winning much in arena and has since rolled other groups. Locks suffer from the slow killing syndrome priests do if you spec them the "normal" pvp build. The pets were annoying, but not game ending. SoC is super nasty in BG's from what I've heard, but there's nothing that makes me want to run out and roll a lock group.

Disc Priest + 4 UA locks seems like it would be very effective with 4x instant howl of terrors, psychic scream, 4x death coils, undispellable DOTs (due to UA), 4x overpowered felpuppies vs casters, 4x drain life, healthstones, pain suppression, etc. If Nightfall were to proc at the same time... o.O
I think 4x Sl/Sl locks = mega ownage non squiche fearing WOtF spamming owners XD
or full demo, id like to see 4x Felguards XD

Just so that you know Ellay, I take offense to this, my priest/mage combo rocks in BG's. Arena's, not so much, but I'm working on getting Season 3 gear on my guys and then trying to rock it out.Originally Posted by 'Ellay',index.php?page=Thread&postID=33133#post331 33

Aww Zseth I didn't mean it like that![]()
I've done Mages myself and I know they work, I don't have any experience with the ones I listed though.
I'd like to hear how you do in Arenas though, what is the pro's and con's.

I have three locks I do arenas with. About a 1450 rating, I lose just a bit more than I win. The two main problems are I don't have the gear for the extra hard to kill SL/SL build (yet) and I don't really have any burst damage. A ton of dots are cool, but it's a lot of very steady damage that's easier for them to deal with, especially if they have a quick dispeller. Even with AOE fears and multiple deathcoils. I think I'm going to try go for a UA/Shadowburn build, to help minimize dispells and give me the extra burst damage I'm looking for. But that will make me even more vulnerable to the quick focus fire kill that's my main weakpoint so far. But I'll keep you updated if I manage to improve at all.
