It's one of those things you either love or hate. Last night was a prime example - I went to this spot in Searing Gorge to knock out a few quests and get gang raped pretty hard. We had about 4-5 guardians and there were at least 10 defiants. I didn't even realize, but within my public group was Void, so I asked him to come over and the next thing I know it was a good two hours later of some awesome pvp. Initially it was something like 9-10 guardians vs a good 20+ defiants and you can definitely see how OP cadence is stacked as it took the defiant some time to mass enough people to finally kill us. This went back and forth, and what I didn't realize was how good the experience was from killing the opposing faction. I gained a good 1/4th of a level throughout that mayhem.
When you die and get camped it sucks, but when you're returning the favor, it's very rewarding. I expect 40-50 to be really bad as you'll have a ton of 50s running around ganking, but that's part of the fun of playing on a pvp server.
One thing you can do if you're getting camped and nobody to help, is simply queue up for warfronts and when the queue pops, res up and enter. For that, you'll get some more balanced pvp action, and when the BG is done, your campers will likely get bored. You should also save your soul walk for those occasions where it seems tough to get out of the area.
What I've seen, is that players that enjoy world pvp, hate being on a PVE server in the long term. However, if you enjoy organized PVP like warfronts, and PVE, then without a question, roll on a PVE server.
