upgrading soon some suggestions ?

Hello, I am looking to upgrade my box in 2-3 months could be sooner. I cannot run 5 clients anymore from one pc like i used to be able too after cata launch, especially being in org or bgs its hhurting my fps.

NO matter we alwasy upgrade pcs around June, last yr was my fiance, this yr its my tirn, last upgrade was 2 yrs ago for me.

So now looking at going 12 gig of ram, but looking at the ram, there is quite a few different brands and lots of different prices, what should i be looking at, and why the one your suggestion ?

I heard i7 motherboards is the way to go ? Will that be the same deal come June ?

Graphics card, I run dual screen plugged into the 1 card, want to keep it the same way again probably... was
1536M GTX580 Inno3 Asus a good card to use ?

Currently I use windows 7 but home version, when I upgrade going for ultimate and 64 bit.

What are peoples suggestions to build a very good box too support 5 clients in cities + BGS and on graphics on High on all clients at least if possible all running off the 1 machine.

Any thing else I need too consider ?

Doesnt really matter as when you move up to 12Gb+ you are looking at running the ram at 1333mhz (only a handful of boards/ram support 1600mhz at this level)

looks like it - you will probably get a good deal on 1366 systems, as most will be looking at 1156 (sandy bridge)

any GTX580 will work - don't bother with overclocked versions, you can overclock yourself with MSI afterburner.
GTX 570's are worth looking at as they are getting very good reviews

windows 7 Home supports up to 16Gb ram - ultimate tbh is a waste of money

Disagree simply due to the brand and not mentioning the competition/older generations, as well as discussing price/performance.

Not that the GTX 570 isn't a good card, I just want to be argumentative.

By June we should all know more information on AMD's next platform and where it's going to stand versus Intel's present and
future platforms.

Core i7 [1366] processors utilize DDR3 800/1066 and Core i7 [1156/1155] utilize DDR3 1066/1333, anything higher is technically
a waste unless you're overclocking. I do not understand the comment of only a handful of boards supporting 1600MHz, more
than half of the 1366 motherboards available on my very quick Newegg search revealed that they do support 1600MHz or higher.
I would put it another way, however, and say that there are only a handful of triple channel RAM kits at 12GB+ designed for
less than 1333MHz.

Windows 7 Home Basic x64 supports 8GB and Windows 7 Home Premium x64 supports 16GB of RAM -- [Comparison Chart].
I will agree that Ultimate is a waste of money, but it's a little ironic coming from someone who just spent a ton of money on a
