    Default Gearing up for pvp

I just started a group to try to level via bgs. I have a demonology lock plus four holy priests. I just tried my first av with this team. To capture flags i just spam hellfire and heal as needed. Im alliance and the bg was over in maybe six minutes. We lost. I should have gone straight to the horde base to heal.

My problem now is that i have awful gear, all of it is quest junk ranging from the mid 30s to mid 50s.

Should i get stuff off the ah or quest a couple levels in outlands?
    Working on the following teams:
    (85) - PVP - Holy Paladin, Holy Priest, Resto Druid
    (85) - Paladin tank, cat druid, fire mage, demon lock, holy priest
    (80) - Dk tank, destro lock, bm hunter, enh shaman, holy priest
    (85 pally/lock) powerleveling 34 toons under 70

What level is your team now, and how long do you plan to level in the BG's?
Also, what level of frustration is acceptable?

If you have less gear than the playing field, you're going to die a lot.
Which of course is less fun than killing hordies and winning.
If you're at maximum level, honor comes over time and that gets you better gear which fairly quickly makes your a force.

    Depends on your resources too.
Dropping 25-30k hasn't been a big deal for me, to buy the level 85 crafted starter pvp set.
Have done that for the Ferals and the DK team (4x DK, 1x Pally are 84th now).
For me, even though the gear will be replaced completely in 7-10 days of too many hours per day... I'd rather have the ability to sort of contribute immediately and to not automatically be stomped by a geared single player or two.

If your team is in the 60-64 bracket, I'd do Hellfire and maybe a bit of Zangarmarsh.
Rather than buy on the AH.
There are enough quests, you can avoid most of the collections.
And AV/BG to 64th, to be able to pick and choose Terrokar/Nagrand/Blade'sEdge quests and then run the 65-69 bracket, as a group of 66's or 67's.
    EverQuest I: Bard / Enchanter / Druid / Wizard / 2x Magician.
    Diablo III: 4x Crusader & 4x Wizard.

I would recommend you to go questing, multiboxing in low level bg without gear isnt fun :/

I tried av again. Even with crap gear and being in separated groups, the team is hard to kill unless they are focused by multiple players or a geared player one shots them since they have barely over 3k health. I can one-shot heal players from near death to 11k health easily. Thats e highest health i saw in two 60-64 bgs. I staggered the heals so for example left click does renew on two and binding heal on two, reversed for rigt click. Flash heal and Gheal shift left on two and opposited on other two. Circle of healing and prayer ofnhealing alt left on two, reversed on the other two.

Granted i just started this but there are times when im dpsing (poorly) with my lock and the four priests just stand ere. Opposite when im healing - the lock just stands there. Pvp is too hectic and unpredictable for me to totally focus on two different roles. I may end up leveling this team up to 63 through questing and switch out the lock for another healer.

This team is good at cappingn towers and graveyards though. I just put the felguard on aggressive and continuously spam hellfire with the priests stacked in the hellfire. Theyre actually wasted by doing this because they shine when i follow the zerg and heal like crazy. I kept healing some geared dk in the second av and she was owning people because she was unkillable until people realized why and focused on me. Why does that dk have four renews?!?! Her health was jumping up and down wildly. Its still fun to heal in bgs. I love it. I need to make this five healers though.

    One thing worth consideration.
Take a look at some of the "twink" brackets.

There are quite a few in the 70 Twink and 80 Twink categories.
Those brackets are: 70-74 and 80-84.

If you want to be able to arena, you need to stop at 70th or 80th respectively.
If you don't care about that, being higher is better stealth detection or stronger stealth.
It is more health, and stronger spells/abilities.
It is slightly less dodge (or whatever), for the same dodge rating.
Not sure how that compares with stronger spells.
If you're a Paladin, 72nd for Avenging Wrath is probably worth not being 70th in the 70-74 bracket, unless you want to arena with your team.
Turn off experience once you reach your desired level.

A major benefit is the gearing.
It is around 2k total honor for a full set of level 70 PvP gear.
Once you gear the team up, you have the best gear for PvP in every slot.
And you'll never need to re-gear the team, unless you want to level up again.
Everyone else has the struggle/fun of trying to get the new season armors; a new season doesn't change the best armor you could wear at 70th in pvp.

Depending how you look at it, that is a mixed blessing.
You're only playing pvp because it is fun, not because you want to upgrade the gear.
It is a relatively level playing field.
No one will ever beat you because of superior gear.
The best skill and/or coordination, or team tactics, will win.

Just mentioning, because you have several teams that are low enough to join whatever bracket.
Can test PvP with a composition, and if you like it... they're a twink set.
