I just started friday. I played wow for years and can tell you that the only thing that's comparable is that they're both MMORPG. And they both have an economy, PVP and missions. That's about it.

It's a far more complicated game and not very carebear friendly. A big aspect in PVP is camping warpgates and ganking anything that comes through. Which means you can lose a lot of money by going to lower security levels. But obviously, that's also where most money is made(correct me if i'm wrong)

If you like putting effort in the game and spend half your gametime reading about what is what etc, then go for it It seems that there is much less need to play with other players in EVE aswell.

I've been playing for about a month now and after 3 weeks of training skills/missioning i've found that I actually like mining. Currently using 4 retrievers and a Bestower, warp into an asteroid belt, mine everything, then warp out .

My current yields aren't very good and it can take a while to mine everything out, but I find it strangely enjoyable.

Apart from some dick coming along and robbing my can today, but that's part and parcel of the game for now. Will soon have the skill to drop 'Giant Secure Containers' to stop that happening.

Got another 3 accounts training up miners too, but may switch them to mining fleet defence.....

It's NOTHING like wow, but it's enjoyable in it's own way
