That does not work. They buffed him if you pull him to the courtyard. He starts hitting like a truck if you do this and will eventually kill you in no time.

even easier was the super ninja, pull-them-thru-to-the-other-exit and just hop off the edge while they pathed around

However, doing it in room isn't too bad - setup interrupts for the guard mob types. I feared one and killed the other, made for an easy fight.
