On my server the truegold has been going for 200 or less per cd with the transmute earning me 20 to 25 per life until recently and selling much more frequently than the truegold on the ah. Lately I've just been ignoring the transmutes though unless somebody needed something, working a side team and just too lazy to care about some gold.
