    Default New to WOW, questions on Box team

    I just started playing WoW. I leveld a Warrior and Priest to 30 in like 3 days. I liked it enough that I am ready to box.

    I boxed EQ2, 6 accounts at once, for 3+ years without ANY third party software, so I definately understand the physics of boxing.

    I will be using 2 computers, both very uber and can run anything at max graphics. I will be playing 5 accounts. I looked into isboxer and am sure I will be purchasing that and figuring it out. I am not looking to AFK bot, so I will always be at the computer.

    However, since I am still a noob and don't fully understand all the intricies to each class I have a question:

    What 5 class setup is going to be best for me taking into consideration everything I said. For example: (Prot Warrior, Shadow Priest/Frost Mage/Frost Mage/ Frost Mage). I would even be interested in like Paladin and then 4 Hunters... or 4 locks.,.. whatever. I just need it to be fairly easy to 5 box and powerful to do well in 5 man dungeons.

    I think the most powerful team is still Prot pally quad shaman. but you do not have to stick with the pally I have been playing with a warrior and 4 shaman and I like the change up plus I already have like 6 pallies now so another one was not an option. The only other bit I could offer you is as long as you have one tanking class and one healing class then you should not have much of an issue.
    also check out Ualaa's guide to Isboxer. some of it may be tough to understand at first but once you rap your head around the mechanics of the program you will find there is not much it will not do.

    I would start with

    Protection paladin (easiest tank for boxing)
    3x demonology warlocks or 3x fire mages
    Discipline priest ( with smite heal talented )


    For leveling later groups, mages help you travel and locks can summon.

    You could run a Druid, dual-spec.
    One spec would be Balance, for PvP.
    Another would be Feral, for PvE tanking.

    Combine that with four Elemental Shaman.
    You could possibly dual-spec one of those Resto, if you wanted a dedicated healer.

    If there is no interest in PvP ever...
    A Prot Paladin instead of the Feral might be a little easier.



    The dual-Healer thread is a decent idea as well.
    Consider any tanking class you would like, other than a Prot Paladin.
    Combine that with dual Holy Paladins.
    And two DPS classes, probably Elemental Shaman for the utility with totems.
    Both Pallies make the shammies their Beacon, so they receive half healing.
    They have the talents to receive significant heals when healing others.
    And you have a lot of buffs (Kings + Might + 2 sets of Totems).
    You could drop one of the Pallies for a Disc Priest if you want... who would then primarily Smite dps, which would passively heal the party via their Atonement talent... Priest brings Shields/Pain Suppression/Fortitude buffs...

    I would suggest watching some of the videos from the people who are running Cata Heroics atm. They of course have very successful runs mostly because of their skill but their team composition is also important.

    If you want to keep things easy, stick to 4 ranged DPS and preferably, a hybrid class (Shaman, Druid, Priest). That way you can have 4 identical DPS when you are doing PvE or PvP and then switch one into a healing spec in dungeons/raids.

    I run Shamans/Pally, Druids/Pally and Priests/Druid as my PvE holy grail teams (Heal/DPS/Tank) and they are all very easy to switch between PvE and PvP.

    Also, with the Shaman/Pally combo it is great fun setting your Shamans to Resto, macro heals to your Prot pally and then play flag runner in WSG. It's a blast trying to have the whole team take down your shamans and lets your other 5 people run amok. 4 x earthshield, 4 x riptide and 4 x chain heal is mad to play!

    For more challenge and fun, try

    Ele shaman

    I read the above posters suggestions, however lemme give you some advice.
    Make a toon of each and play around with them, find a combo that is good for you, and your playstyle. Some people are fantastic players, just not as good with a ret pally or a feral druid, or an affliction lock, or BM hunter etc etc.

    As for your group make ups; There is a whole section of threads dedicated to group make ups. After reading there you may change your mind. Given you are new to WoW. I'll suggest you steer away from Rogues, feral druids, warriors, and enhancement shamans. These are fun classes, and fun specs, however, mixed with you being new to WoW AND boxing a new set, I advise against any melee group.

    Also one last piece of advice... you are likely to not keep your first WoW set. Not saying you wont all together, but its just not likely.

    I have been playing WoW since Beta. I have played all classes, and all talent trees. With every expansion, classes are tweaked a bit, and a portion of the game is new again. So basically if you like seeing the arcane missles or sending a pet in to hump a mobs leg.. whatever makes you smile. Thats your group.

    ... After all. There is always a better group than yours. And no matter how good you are. Youre toons are gonna die.

    For the absolute easiest configuration, I would say Paladin + 4x Shaman

    For a slightly less easy configuration, but overall more power & other abilities, I'm getting sold on Paladin, Priest & 3x Shaman.

    My new team is a Protection Paladin, Discipline Priest, Restoration Shaman, and 2 Elemental Shaman. This gives me:

    - Paladin aura (Resistance almost always)
    - Blessing of Kings
    - Power Word: Fortitude
    - Power Word: Shield
    - Power Word: Barrier
    - CC for Undead
    - Every totem buff
    - 3x elementals
    - Tons of passive healing
    - Earth Shield

    Even better, if you dual-spec your resto shaman and your proest, you can add another few thousand DPS to your team easily when handling content where you don't need a dedicated healer and aren't worried about the priest being able to throw out a heal from time to time.

    So far it's still early going with my team, but it definitely feels like a solid combination. The upcoming buffs to priests (shield is 3x as strong, etc) seem like they'll just make things even better.

    I have got the shaman glyph to add resistance through the healing totem, since the aura and totem don't stack I just just retribution.
