Death Knight Blood Tanking Rotation Help Needed

Can someone post their blood dk rotation please? I am trying to get a guy tank geared real quick and I have no clue when it comes to the new blood tanking. I checked some of the stuff on the web but so far I am ignorant of how the rotations work.

It's not really difficult if you read the skills, but i can post what I do personally for you.

For trash, i never really worry about diseases. usually the only thing i do is plague strike. Given that plague strike will cause blood boil to be free after blood plague is already on the target its good to put it in there.

I use a two step macro on my blood dks, first step casts a death strike. After tuesday's patch spamming death strike means that the bubbles will begin to stack up, and its also going to hit harder.


so first step in my macro in isboxer is this :ftl assist current window, cast death strike, interact with target
step two is where i try to call all of these other abilities

1eath strike(this is on both steps as you always want to death strike whenever you can)
2.on the second key in my 2 step macro i have a macro that casts death strike death strike blood boil and then rune tap, in a cast sequence.

This is not really optimal, as many people prefer to just put rune tap on a key whenever they need it they can hit it, however i always save my blood tap/rune tap macro for "on demand" heals, and this 2nd part of my 2nd step kinda means that i'm always using it when its up. Given that you may sometimes be really low on health(ie below 35 %) and the talent will of the necropolis gives a free rune tap, this will ensure that it gets used when that happens(if ever).

3: 3rd key in my 2nd step is blood boil (giving the adds scarlet fever means reduced dmg taken, and it does a fair amount of aoe agro, which is good! )

You MAY prefer to have blood boil on a separate key (just to put up the debuff) and put heart strike here, as it will do more dmg after patch 4.0.6. This will still help with aoe, however it wont put the debuff up for you, and relys on the disease to do much more dmg. This ability is good however, and should not be discounted for the threat gen. Currently my dps does no more threat than my tank can manage, and i just use blood boil instead

4: bone shield(so that its always up whenever its down)

5: Plague strike(the only disease i use when i auto apply it) Generally this just gets used once and a while while i spam my key. What it allows for tho, is free blood boils in place of the rune used, which is really good, and also why i prefer to keep blood boil on key 3 instead of heart strike

6: rune strike(pretty self explanatory) you've gotta use your runepower on something, and rune strike does a high amount of threat so is used in place of a death coil here

So if you're using isboxer you make a mapped key for the 2 step key process

step one calls your keybinds for ftl assist, death strike, and interact with target
step two calls all of the above 1,2,3,4,5, and 6 and fires off whichever comes off runes first

first thing i do is cast outbreak on my target, or hit my diseases key, bound to some other key than my dps spam it either casts outbreak or casts (icy touch, plague strike, pestilence). This macro key gets called in its own step in a mapped key usually shift+whatever dps spam key is. This way i can auto apply diseases then go back to dps spamming. outbreak is instant cast and puts both diseases up so its pretty mindless, and easy to use.

The dps spam key basically amounts to casting outbreak(or both diseases), death striking on the down press of the key, interacting with target and ftl assisting my lead toon. On the up press of the key, it tries to call (death strike first, a cast sequence which will basically auto advance until i've used up all my runes and then casts rune tap, Blood boil, bone shield, plague strike, and then rune strike to blow off runic power)

Its a priority based system, but it works like a charm. I have it set to my V key, so i spam V to dps and tank, then my shift + V does something similar, but on shift v i use a cooldown calling system, which calls horn of winter, anti magic shell, vampiric blood, tank trinket use, raise dead, and dancing rune weapon, then empower rune weapon. this gets spammed tilll everything is used as a sort of "oh shit" button and helps to keep my tank alive and do a buncha super threat /survival tactics


if you want a straight up macro cast sequence i can set one up for you, but this assume's you're all using the 2 step macro calling as its far superior to cast sequences in all aspects imo

I'm a fan of Death Strike when you have no death runes, else blood boil. Hit runic strike when you have the RP.

I setup 1 button does 5 buttons on output
Button 1 is DS, 2 Blood Boil, 3 Bone Shield, 4 + 5 are Rune Strike.

I was testing on the dummy and doing heart strike instead of blood boil did more dps. What I was doing is using death strike and heart strike with rune strike. Then every 30 seconds I would blood boil for the debuff. I have not tanked any instances other than Argaloth with this DK so I am not sure how it will work. Will blood boil or heart strike break cc since they hit multiple targets?
