I'm not really anticipating much grief for boxing. It's fairly common for folks to PL their toons with their mains which is probably the original form of dual-boxing or to be running multiple accounts on servers with low populations.

I'm probably going to use three casters/priest types and avoid melee in the beginning.

If anyone is interested though, unless something has changed within the last day or two, Monks will have their current fist damage and not the classic Monk fists so they will be pretty powerful.

About the monks, the forum lurkers said that damage mitigation is pretty poor on them in comparison. It will be a paladin or warrior for me with a bard for melee dps. The rest will be casters. I can manage 2 melee really easy especially when the 2nd is a bard, set it and forget it.

If they get hit, yeah the mitigation isn't as good but they are good at avoidance (with high agi) which plate wearer's aren't.

Warrior/Paly is great too but I lean on the dark side, I could never play a Paly in EQ. Dark Elf SK/Necro all the way!

Just a reminder for users of IsBoxer, don't forget to set your executables to admin permissions. I completely forgot to set them when I set up EQ last week.

Meanwhile my tentative team is: Warrior, Bard, Enchanter, Cleric, Druid and a Wizzy or Monk. Maybe I will solo the monk (or 2 monks) for the fun of it.

Ok, so I woke up early to get an early start and the damn server is full. They will need a second server asap.

Grrr. I was so psyched too about reliving my glory days (make that YEARS) in EQ starting right away.

I'm going to start out with single-box enchanter, then on my other account, raise up a shaman a bit, and then dual box them until I get back into the swing of it and relearn all of my lost years of EQ play knowledge.

If it goes well then I'll likely 5-box it.

At any rate they already have another server to handle the unexpected overflow. It is named Vulak'Aerr, but is still locked. They state they should have it ready by tomorrow if not sooner. I sure hope it is sooner.

Who else here from DB are going to do some EQ for a while? For those on the Vulak'Aerr server we need to speak up so we can form a guild. When I get set up I'll post my toon names.

I'm guessing after the intial rush, and the newness has worn off, they'll merge the 2 servers, because fuck me I can't get on Fippy and the second one will be a dead server.
