Thread: Will This Work?

    Default Will This Work?

Hey , I dont multibox, but i hope in the next month or so i will have enough money for everything i need. So I am trying to figure out my class make-up. I want to go Pa/Pr/Pr/Pr/Pr. Im definately going that route. But what im stuck on is, Shadowpriests or Holynukers with some Disc damage talents.

    Shadow:
    Pros:
    More damage
    Slight healing with VE
    Cons:
    Cant heal
    More spells, harder to control

    Holy:
    Pros:
Picked up some talents in holy so i can heal if need be
Pop renew on my pallatank that at 70 BASE (no spell dam or healing) would do 1k every 3sec
Smite away and wen i crit i get instant smite.
    Cons:
    Mana?

Just wondering whats the better choice, thanks all. Oh yeah, the pally I already have at 70 and he will be in raid gearz.

I have not boxed the 4 priest setup past level 5, so take this with the salt it was made with.

I know there is at least one boxer on here that does the holy route, quite well as I understand it, but I would lean towards shadow for the following.

    1) Mindflay - will auto direct you towards the target, helps with any facing issues
    2) Renew is very powerful but can be wasted time/mana when you're just over healing your tank. With shadow dmg + VE at least you're always hurting the mob even if you're overhealing your tank
    3) Being shadow doesn't mean you don't get renew, just reduces power significantly. Being holy means you don't get VE or VT
    4) VT + BoW - lots o mana
    5) Blackout x 4 = lots of mob stunning
    6) Silence x 4 = 25 seconds+ of dead caster
    7) Lots of gear with good + shadow dmg... not so much good + holy dmg
    8) Also get Meditation from the Disc line for truly infinite mana but this means you get nothing out of the holy tree... meh

That's my take at least. And sure you could go with a non standard 50/50 build or something to try and get the best of both worlds, but my priest experience and Blizz's design fights that logic.

Alright you holy nukers, now for your side!

I have not tried this setup, but my main was a holy nuke priest for the last year+ I can tell you that mana really would not be an issue.

Why 1 pally 4 priests? Why not toss in a mage over the fourth preist so you can have all of the extra goodies.

I like the 4 holy nuke priest because, 1. They can all heal with renews/flash heals. 2. JotC from my pally is more damage for the priests. 3. Mage=1 more class and since this will be my 1st 5s group, i figure id just try and get 2 classes down b4 i try 3.
