Beginner Help with Mouse Sharing
Hey, I'm a total slacker and thought I could just alt-tab to do my dual boxing RAF, and just have one of my characters do the killing. Two months into a three month RAF, my best pair of toons has reached all of level 17. This isn't all just because I'm lazy, I've had my main raider to distract me from the leveling I was hoping to do. That said really want to make up for the lost time over this next month.
This place is a really nice resource for new multiboxers, just hope we can get rid of some of the dead links in the starter guides. Particularly it was a pain to track down a live link to Octopus 1.3.8a that several of the guides recommended as the best freebie option for a starter. Finally managed to find one, and using some of the guides I've got the two clients sharing keystrokes running top and bottom on a single screen.
Done with the preamble, on to the question:
I've run into conflicting info on one point. Am I able to use Octopus to run a virtual cursor over the second game on the same screen? I would love to be able to click-loot and such, but from what I've seen I may have to do the 3+ clicks to swap to the second client, loot, and swap back. Any guides available to set up the mouse to click for both, or would I need to swap to using a second dummy rig?

Try interact with target for looting. It is also good for quests -
- To enable these features, go to your Blizzard Mouse Options {ESC > Interface > Game {Not Addons} > Mouse} and enable Click-to-Move on your slaves {Enabling click-to-move on the master is not advisable...nothing is more annoying than trying to click a mob and running off into the distance}.
- Now go to Key Bindings again {ESC > Key Bindings} and look for the Targeting Functions section. Near the bottom of that section, you will find Interact With Target. Set this for everyone. I use ] for my team.
- Finally, create a macro on all your slaves to assist your main {such as "/assist MASTERNAME" or "/assist focus"}. Put that on a bar and set a hotkey for it. I use [.
- Now, whenever you go to a questgiver{lootable mob}, you target it with your main, tell your slaves to assist, and then hit your interact button. Everyone should open the quest window {attempt to loot/skin/herb/mine} at the same time.
