You guys need to stop and think hard.

When your guys start running away think about what key you just pressed.
When it was happening to me, it was Alt+W I used alt while talking in vent and was like WTF.

So think about what is being pressed next time you do it.

One other consideration is client-load. I seemed to have this problem alot when my WoW settings were maxed. I went into Keyclone and turned the maxfps and maxfpsbk down - and the problem nearly vanished. I 5 box with Octopus 1.07 and keyclone (main on 1 computer, 4 alts on the other) and I only get a runaway about once a week.

Hint: when you get a runaway, push and release the key that is the direction they are running. It seems counter intuitive, but the fact is that it is caused because a "Key-Up" event didn't happen - so push the key down and let go ... which should cause the key-up event and stop your toons.

Also, think about where your mouse is when you are hitting modifier keys. If you hold shift to use an ability on your main, mouse to the alt, then release shift and hit the next button ... the shift keyup isn't registered on the main ... so when you go back it will cause issues.

Personally, I wish there was a way to just spam "keyup" for all keys but that would probably be against the TOS.

The only key that may be getting pressed for me when this happens is my right mouse button (because I jump/turn usually). Could my mouse click be being captured and sent by keyclone as some other key? Can mouse buttons be added to the do not pass list?

I plan on going to a white-list method tonight with the only keys passed being my 0-9, - and = keys. If I still get run aways then, I'll know there is a bug somewhere that has nothing to do with how I'm moving/stopping my characters.

    Diamd,

It is not about what I just pressed directly.

For example, I'll hammer my lightning bolt key down 20 times. On the 21st time for some reason my guys run crazy.

It is NOT the actual key I'm pressing, it happens randomly. Watch the video below and see what I mean, my guys are running CRAZY after pressing the same spell I press all the time. I'd say 1 in 500 presses (about 1 in 10 min) this seems to happen. It only happens when keyclone gets a lot of keys to clone. ALSO - I am networking 2 keyclones to my 3rd pc. Also, I cannot make the guys stop running unless I terminate keyclone or they die.

Believe me, I *really* wish it was as simple as one of my keys noticeably passing some bad key, but it doesn't seem to be it at all. The keys I use, I use over and over, it only randomly does the bug.

Ohh Ok I see. Now this could be something you can suggest Keyclone look into see if it is a bug on your end or his, sounds like the networking thing could have some small bugs.

Hey Keyclone guy, could you please comment on this thread?

    Thanks

ah yes... orbiting. i have had that once... and i believe it was due to synergy running on the box.

are you running synergy? does it have broadcast on? when you mouse to the next screen... do you have it pause or does t he mouse go over immediately?

i found if i was moving, and i moused to another screen accidentally, they'd start orbiting. it was very strange. being a mouse driver on the long hauls, i didn't hit it often.

try not using synergy and then see if you can get it to happen. let me know what you find

    Hey there,

    I am not using Synergy.

The guys are orbiting often, that only happened once. What does happen is the guys run off in a direction and don't stop. That direction can be straight, diagonal, whatever. Orbiting is really just having a variant of diagonal.

But nonetheless this happens all the time.

    My setup:

    3 PCs
    3 Keyclones

    PCA - Main
    PCB - 2 WoWs
    PCC - 2 WoWs

PCB and PCC both have "connect to" the IP of PCA, which is an exclusive private wired network with 0 loss out of nearly a billion packets sent.

This problem is wrecking havok on me trying to 5box.

NOTE: My current PC setup consists of BRAND NEW high end pcs.

IMPORTANT: My prior PC setup consisted of entirely different hardware with 4 comps and this problem existed on that setup as well.

    Please help!

to be honest, it sounds like something in how you are playing.

do you have anything on your DNP list? white list? keymap?

what version of keyclone are you running?
