Gearscore (Loot Upgrade Mode)

Has anyone seen an addon that does just this? I am looking to spend some time this week maybe cutting out this potion of gearscore into a separate addon. As I seem to favor some characters over others, so that at 50 i was wearing very outdated gear on a character and looking at instancetimer, I had other characters loot a few items multiple times. I am thinking of a simple very cached slot itemid for each character in my group and just showing five lines in every item tooltip.

Master Loot Upgrade Mode - This mode is an excellent way to assist your raid in increasing their overall level of gear as quick as possible. Whenever you mouse over an item the tooltip will show how much of an upgrade in GearScore that item is for each person in your raid that can equip that item. Prefect for loot-council type raiding guilds and also excellent for leveling characters in helping to choose which item to pick from quest rewards.

I had never heard of that, but it is certainly something I'd be interested in. Five minutes ago some PvP cloth boots dropped for me in VoA and I had to look through all the clothies on that raid team one at a time to see who they would be the biggest upgrade for. I do this every time usable loot drops (as I'm sure almost all boxers do, but I think I'd get even more benefit than most with 10 toons to look after at any one time). If this was available I would sure put it to good use.

I have one called rating buster, I think it is what you mean, gives the +/- on the gear and each part of the spec? STR,AGL....

I think for now the best option is the part of gearscore mentioned in the original post.

In addition to the regular in-game addons (ratingbuster & gearscore) I use a stand alone program called Rawr http://rawr.codeplex.com/

It helps on optimizing your gear/stats based on your current build, very helpful

Sure, I also want this for the AH and what not. So when I mouse over some discount belt or what not. I can see its a upgrade for one of my guys, or better yet loot atlas.

I also don't want to change loot methods for that functionality, it seems well broken out though inside gearscore.

Not sure how rating buster tells me this is a possible upgrade for your character, I see how its an upgrade for the player unit though. I use it myself all the time.

rawr isn't very realtime and doesn't work well for non max level characters, once your max level its unlikely you don't know exactly what items you need for you characters. You are unlikely to be surprised by a drop and when drops do occur they are so infrequent its not really an issue.

Now that i think about it, if you get the loot system addons epgp (dkp reloaded) and epgp lootmaster, the master looting window will show you what everyone has equipped in that slot. You could use it for your loot distribution without using its dkp system.

Exactly, I have a crude console text printing event when I mouse over an item it shows me the same slot for all the jamba members and the +/- ilevel. I am not sure I need to get into rating buster type maths and if the item is usable and so forth really. I could care less if my boomkin wears cloth for example. Though the brief time I looked at ratingbuster it seemed that it could be hooked, as long as you aren't trying to get out the information like 'viewing an 80 str item on your paladin will indicate that a priest could gain spell power from it'. but just indicate it has +/- a number of str.

I think an enchantrix 'sub-tooltip' that has the characters in the jamba team list (online & offline) slots sorted by who could use it most based on ilevel and maybe some future maths is about as good as I can expect.
