    Default Hardware vs software boxing

Hardware boxing means you have one computer for each toon right?
Just out of curiosity, I've heard that some MMORPG accept hardware boxing but not software boxing. But can they really see the difference?

If I'm behind a router all my computer shares the same external IP anyway, so will the game server be able to tell the difference if I run on several computers or if I'm only using one computer?

Lots of MMORPG's are quite confused what multiboxing even is like a majority of the public.

Venture over to the section discussing what MMORPG's support boxing and their policies. You'll see that some companies are just plain confused. Such as City of Heroes. It has such a conviluded policy that's it is hard to make heads or tales of the thing.

I highly doubt they could tell the difference or even take actions against you. Best thing to do is always choose an MMORPG that has a clear cut boxing policy. If they are for boxing then it usually never matters. If they are against boxing and they have lots of conviluded rules- then there will always be a chance of getting in trouble.

Here's a link to the policies I was talking about earlier-

Hardware boxing means you don't use software to send keystrokes to multiple clients. KVM swith or whatever is used.

Hardware boxing is harder to detect as if you are using known software to (IsBoxer, Keyclone etc.) send keystrokes to multiple clients all they have to do is see the program on your computer.

The way to detect hardware boxing cheating (at least in wow) is if the key commands are sent faster then humans can or if they are sent at perfect intervals all the time. But simple using a kvm switch is not cheating, programming a G15 with delays would be.
