5 star Threads

Why is almost every thread in the 4 main subsections in the new section all 5 star all of a sudden:

probably because the thread rating is an average of all ratings, so if only one person gives a 5star rating...

When spammers add a post, they 5-star it for better visibility, since some sites sort by rating. People see a highly-rated thread at a busy site, they'll go for that over recent threads. Deleting the spam doesn't delete the rating.

Every Sam post in a thread should automatically be minus 1 star.
