    Default Ideal CTM method? one step or two step

    First i'll explain what i mean by one step and two step CTM.

    minimum keymaps used
    /console AutoInteract 1 (used to turn on run to clicked spot or target)
    /console AutoInteract 0 (used to turn off run to clicked spot or target)
    IWT - Your wow ITW keybind (used instead of a mouse click to take the basic action on target ie open vender, open quest npc, fight mob.)
    Optional Keymaps used
    /script SetView(1);SetView(1) (defaults the camera incase it got all foobared when you were looking around)
    /jamba-follow strobeoff all (turns off your jamba follow strobe to prevent your toons from sprining back to your master when we want them to face the mobs)

    One Step Action (CTM was already enabled beforehand)

    step 1 IWT wow key (mine is ctrl-I)
    pros:
    1-doesnt nessarraly need to be spammed giving you time to do other micro like drop some HOTs or some debuffs.
    2-great for long distances comparted to the two step method
    cons:
    1-chicken effect IWT is not good for moving targets and willl usually move you to the spot the enemy was at when you clicked
    2-run off bridges and die creating confusion
    3-run off and aggro more stuff creating confusion
    4-runs into lava/water creating confusion

    Two Step Action moves towards your target while you have the key down, halts movement towards target on "key up"

    Step 1 (Key Down)
    •CTM enabled
    •Do ITW
    •Jamba strobe off

    Step 2 (Key Up)
    •ITW
    •CTM disabled
    •key down (aborts the CTM Run)

    pros
    -spam-able
    -accurate
    -great for turning and facing
    -great for short distances like last 10-20 range
    -works great as the initial toon facing for a formation

    cons:
    -horrible for long distances
    -sometimes it doesn't wont to work. possibly because the A-B 1-2 steping gets out of sync somehow.

    so what do you use for your melee's? most of you use the one step method? but when you spam it how to you prevent the run around the mobism?

    I have two IWT keys.

    One is a toggle, which when on is automatically run in addition to the DPS moves for melee toons only.
    And when that keymap is turned off, it is still called but nothing happens besides the normal DPS.

    The other is on a keybind and goes for everyone.

    With Melee teams, my CTM is on for all toons always.
    With Caster teams, CTM is enabled for the slaves and disabled for the master on every switch.

    I agree with Ualaa. Add:

    CTM on -> all other
    CTM off -> Self

    to your jamba-master key map. Have that executed automatically when you swap toons (in the slots of a character set). Remove CTM switches from any other key maps it might be in.

    Then forget about CTM, it no longer matters.

    would there be a way to reduce chicken with head cut off with something like

    /stopmacro [nocombat,target=corpse,notarget]
    /console AutoInteract 0

    Well.. You couldn't put [nocombat] as a conditional unless you do manual IWTs at the start of each fight (or your melee toons will avoid joining combat althogether) and once they've started running, ending the macro isn't going to stop them =D.

    The other stuff might help, best bet is to try it.

    Outside PvP is probably not worth spamming IWT anyway. I find a few well timed presses of a manual "Melee IWT" key map most effective at avoiding randomly running toons.

    The best way to avoid running around like a chicken with its head cut off is to not put IWT on every key. If you put IWT on every key, you WILL run around in circles, you WILL have runaways, and you WILL have to manually deal with them.

    Outside PvP is probably not worth spamming IWT anyway. I find a few well timed presses of a manual "Melee IWT" key map most effective at avoiding randomly running toons.

    If your guys run away, you can just hit the key again, or hit follow. It's not a big deal when you're doing it manually, but if you enable IWT on every key you better avoid cliffs like the plague.
