Anyone been successful in soloing BoT trash for epics?

Server dependence and not all of the items are good, like the stupid cloth pants or w/e it is. And if they are under 1k then your server has NO IDEA wtf it is doing with it's economy.

zone drop epics have always had about a 10% drop rate from mobs, dating back to before sunwell trash runs were big. Can you hit a dry spree of items? Sure you can.

There are no epics (aside from like spell thread) on the alliance side less than 4k - and those are all crafted - most of the crafted are closer to 6- 8k. Any world or trash drops are in the 10k - 50k range on Kil'Jaden alliance.

What iLvl epics are we talking here? My server is selling any ilvl 264 or below for less that 1k. Only the Cataclysm epics are selling for more and even those have started to drop fast, there is nothing on the AH selling for 30k.
I am on US Uther and even the eternal airs are now starting to drop through the floor price wise.

We're all talking 85 level epics I believe. The level 80 epics are on firesale.

I think there's some miscommunication happening. To clarify, at least how I understand it, I believe Klesh is being sarcastic with this remark:

Klesh believes the drop rates are lower than 15%, and he's claiming that if it was near that percentage BoE's would be much lower in price (like around 1k). But because they're so expensive, Klesh is assuming the drop rate must be much lower.


fwiw, I think even with a 15% droprate prices on the AH will be multiple thousand k gold for awhile, Klesh. Why? Most BoEs wouldn't make it from the raid to the AH, since guilds give the BoEs to people in their raid that want them in order to gear up the group faster. It's like you are assuming that every BoE that drops gets sold on the AH, which is really, really far from the truth at the beginning of an expac.

Back on topic then, has anyone been able to 5 man the trash? Considering how hard some of the heoric thrash hits, I am thinking a team would need a really well geared tank.

My guess is that it wont be 5-mannable until the next content patch when we all outgear it.

We made about 9 epics, with me tanking, with four shamans, and 5 guildies. 3 hours farming. On my server we could sell all for about 160k, so nice amount of gold - considering we could have done it with less people.
I was able to solo the first pack and the patrols, but it sure takes time and it's not easy (I havent been mulitboxing at 85 at all really, so green gear and shit..)

Hex four, and nuke the add up, regen mana, blabla...
