Thumbs down Ok I suck at pvp...

So I'm going to do the terribad thing and go back to boxing. I won't do instances, just pvp. With that in mind should I
A: run an 85 holy pally and level my 80 shamans
B: run 5 shaman, which would require leveling a 72 shaman up to the 80s.

I don't plan on arena, but I may try when I feel more comfortable in my suckiness.

This is because I have no friends and can't seem to win versus any class that knows how to PvP. Which is sad because I use a frost Mage, which versus some classes is almost auto win and yet I lose

Pretty sure I suck at PvP too.
Doesn't stop it from being a fun diversion.

I configure my team to have several options.
But have a tendency to spam my DPS key, and not pay as much attention to clicking special keys.
Just something to work on, I suppose.

Any PvPers have a take on the holy paladin vs all shaman dps or one shaman healer and 4 dps? I also could throw a disc priest in as lead...

    80-84 is a bracket.
    And 85 is another.
The new brackets are x0-x4 and x5-x9.

So you cannot pvp with the 80-84's in the same BG as the 85 anymore.
I suppose you could WG/TB or world pvp them together, but that is it.

That had me confused, as an 85 cannot PvP with 80's.

One of my teams is a similar composition.

    1x Paladin, 4x Shaman.
For PvE, the Pally is Prot and one of the Shammies is Resto.
For PvP, the Pally goes Holy and all Shammies go Elemental.

I've had a lot of experience with the composition, in PvE.
It was the original group, prior to trading the Resto (dual-spec) for the Warlock.
But with the team shuffle of toons for Cataclysm, the group is back together.

    For PvP...
    Honestly, reading Boylston's shammy sticky...
We might have more success running the 4x Shammies as a discreet unit.
The composition occupies four slots instead of five, which adds flexibility to our team in the smaller battlegrounds; and four is enough to blow people up.

A Holy Pally does add some nice toys, and will likely heal fairly well; look at the Pally + 4x DK teams.
Drive with the Pally, go with a Repeater Region for the healing.
Click to target with the Pally.
One-button spam, with a few specials for the Shammies.
And some click specials on the Pally.

for Battlegrounds - I'd run the 4 shaman except for in AV. In AV your Paladin can make a big difference whether as tank or healer, but in the other BGs you'll likely do better running as 4.

That's weird, when I went back to single boxing pvp I was considerably better than I was before. I'm not bragging about my skills, I'm just saying if you've played with a severe handicap for years (limited movement and control over spell timing and cooldowns) that suddenly playing without that handicap could make you worse...

Frost mage seemed appropriate for a former boxer...I had all the micromanagement skills I learned from multiboxing, lightning fast reaction times and situational awareness, with the benefit of having 100% control of my character's spells and movement. I can't imagine going from boxing to one toon and being anything other than stellar - even when I played my old shaman solo I was top in every BG and arena I tried, it was like easy mode. On the same note I can't see how if you can't play one character where you have 100% control that you would be better if multiboxed instead.
You sure you were doing it right?

Did I mention I'm not very good? Plus it's usually my no resilience mage against someone in full pvp gear, but Im not sure gear would have changed the outcome. The problem I find in pvp is I panic too easily and start fumbling for keys. Multiboxing I dont have that issue as I have limited keys and don't have to search much, plus having OP dps helps =)
