Sometimes taking a break is the best thing to do. Once it stops being fun, step back and leave it for a while. The urge will return at some point and you'll progress. It might seem slow, but as long as you're enjoying it, that's what matters.

remember, it's just a month since the game launched. We've got at least another year, and probably somewhere between 18-24 months before the next expansion. Those heroics aren't going anywhere, and as others have said they will likely be nerfed at some point. And if they're not, you'll wind up with ilvl 400-500 gear that will make them easy to farm. Before long you'll be considering if you should quit because you are bored with farming easy heroics and cannot wait for the next expac.

Honestly, take a break if you think you need it. I haven't done any heroics with my boxers, other than the. First boss of vortex. I understand your frustration.
I've got alts and as soon as I read the 9000 page thread on dk pvp, I'm gonna dip my toes in to that. However, if you feel you need a break, take it. The accounts will be there waiting when you come back and you'll have an extra $75 a month to blow somewhere else.

In WoTLK you could get ilevel 240-250 without a single boss kill (pvp and crafts), whereas raiders were 260-270 iirc.

Its just not that big of a gap between raiders and non raiders in wow to worry about it for pvp.

Im doing AH right now buy up Cata's at $30 a pop on ebay. Got JC and ALK (6 of them) to 525 and only that Twilight Highland recipes are stopping my tailor, LC etc. from 525.

Money just flowing in .... 6-10K a day.

Netherweave bags at 20g each and I have 2-3 banks full of bolts of cloth.

At this stage of WotLK, you could purchase iLV 200 Titansteel gear, and you could get iLV 213 or so from Naxx raids.

Heroics dropped iLV 200 gear and badges which were used for iLV 200 gear.

By the end of WotLK, you could purchase some iLV 264 gear, and heroics were still balanced against a team in a mix of iLV 187-200 gear.

I've been on hiatus myself since a little before Cata launch. Really just was bored of WOW despite all the new stuff just laid out before me with this expansion. I decided to not buy Cata and have been trying out some of the bajillion awesome games out there I've missed while playing WOW.

Still WOW is like a drug... To change how you live after so long of playing WOW is difficult for some. You find yourself with all this free time and being a boxer extra money. Used my money I would have spent on subs to buy DC Universe that I will start Tuesday =)

So far have played Black Ops, Fallout 2, Force Unleashed 2, Mafia 2, and some City of Heroes. You do start to miss WOW around the 3rd month. Especially if you're like me and still read about what everyone is doing. One thing I always have to keep in mind is the game isn't going anywhere. I'll be back one day but I'm in no rush.

Take some time off and see how you feel. WOW is always so much more amazing after a long break.

I'm pretty sure, if you continue gaming on the PC, you'll be back to Warcraft eventually.

But if you get a different hobby entirely, that does not involve gaming on a computer... you stand a good chance of not returning to warcraft.

Not saying warcraft is good or bad, just that it is addictive.

I've yet to try a heroic, just finishing up the lvl 85 zones, need a few more gear points before i can queue.

I always thought I was decent at multi-boxing, but then would see someone say X or Y boss was easy while I was wiping on it. I came into Cata poor so haven't been able to buy any gear upgrades at lvl 85. I'm not finding the lvl 85 normals easy, so I imagine my progression will mostly halt once I start trying heroics.

I've gone through this is fun to I F#$king hate this wanting to through my keyboard on the floor. The latest keyboard throwing almost occurred after I added a new ground based spell and most of screwed something up (again) as mid way through the fight I notice my guys wouldn't auto follow were running in different directions etc.

Anyway, I hear ya, I basically set the number of wipes I will do, then after that I run dailies , play solo, quest etc. After a bit I'm ready to try again.

on the bright side my skill boxing is way better than before the exp. I can now CC without blinking, moving is getting pretty good.

Though I'm still not with the uber boxers, I read Toned's description of the first boss in Halls of Origination heroic and though, "Um, you did what?" Not thinking I could even try that yet...

I've been saving all the melee shaman gear while I've been dungeon crawling as I think that might be fun to try as a solo char.

As others said, I would take a break, or play solo and then revist again later.

I myself am taking a break on multiboxing till things eighther get eased up on heroics via nerf or new raid zone via content patch so that we can have more ways to use Jps. I farmed all the needed JP items for my team, and made my epic items on few characters. I managed to down few new heroic bosses such as the BRC first boss (second was just plain practice but usualy am just tired of trying. I know it can be done, it has been done by some of us).

I have done what I could, so now am just on solo account till things get more accesible to me. Maybe in a few months after first content patch gets released will reactivate other 4 to try new things that can be done.

Funny how you rate this as "impossible to multibox". I got the achievement Ready for Raiding the very first time i tried multiboxing this boss! It wasn't even that hard with my caster group: strafe and follow to walk in a circle, ignored the adds, only nuke boss whenever possible.

Of course heroics are hard, as they should be! But, with some practise and gear upgrades you will be able to clear all of them. Problem is that ppl are so used to over-gearing content (Wrath iLvL 200 heroics in iLvL 264 gear etc.) that everything feels hard now that we actually need to pay attention to what we are doing.

IMO every cata instance that has been released can be multiboxed, just maybe not before 346+ gear.

Did that lost city heroic with just my pally tank in a pug, ilvl oof 342 and aoe'd down every trash pack and healer didn't go below 70% mana. I don't think we are too far away from heroics being easy mode. I remember at the start of wotlk, bosses took 1-2 mins, then near the end they took 14-17 seconds.

I'd say first and 2nd bosses in stone core are harder than the 3rd and 4th.
Lightning rotation in deadmines is easy to box, stack all your dudes and use broadcasting movement keys to navigate it. The rotating fire and ropes im not sure about though.

But yea, soon we will be nuking the bosses to kingdom come. At the moment, I'm enjoying the relative hardness of heroics solo play on my tank. It's refreshing, reminds me of the cc requires ment of BC heroics.
