Default PVE'er with PvP Woes, Suggestions?

Albeit this is my first time boxing on a PVP Server, and it was my choice to roll there, i have come to realize that the PVP server of my choosing may not be the best thing for me.

I spent the better part of the last 2 days Bobing and weaving trying to survive in Scarwood Reach/Scarlet Gorge, generally i would have been able to gain 10 levels in this time, however being level 30/31, i am able to take several people at once if i can concentrate on slowing down the attackers, but these last few days has been a rude awakening, that me being a 5 boxer, i am a target of much aggression on my server.

I'll get a random small group of 2 to 3 guys try to kill me, i will repel them but, then ill get like 20+ Guardians, which they will tend to camp me for a bit. I've only been able to get about 10 quests done and i was able to get a half a level.

Is this common with the other boxers on pvp servers, i know i could always go PVP spec to be able to be more defensive and survivable? i think im 1 of a small number of boxers on my pvp server Reclaimer. Is it recommended since i am a carebear in a pvp world, that i just cut my losses, leave my 30s, and go to a pve server where i belong? How do the does everyone else view this situation if you were in my shoes?

My setup is a PVE mix group similar to most PvE WoW setups; Tank, Healer, 3 DPS. There is nothing keeping me on the server 100% that i need to be there. I have a few RL friends on there, and several Internet friends i run with, but they are all pvp gungho, so they are use to it, but they are all 50 now and raiding.

Go PvE Brother! If you are not LOVING the PvP all the time, get out. PvPrs love what is causing you angst. Alsbeth has boxers on both sides, I'm sure they would love to have you!

I'm an avid pvp'er but didn't like the mindset I saw on PVP in beta (griefing and corpse camping = PVP ), so I'm on a PVE server

Im with Lyon. If I want to PVE, I will pVE. If I want to PVP I will go and join a warfront or whatever they're called.

Not being able to do what i want in the game when I want (i.e. cant do PVE cause im getting camped) annoys me and... I hate paying to be annoyed.

    My opinion of course.

    PvPing takes away from leveling.

PvPers look at it this way: At the cost of leveling speed, I'm having a blast with PvP.
PvEers view PvP as a distraction from their true goal.

If you didn't enjoy the experience, than it would make sense for you to move to a PvE server.
Also, don't expect that, just because you are a 5-boxer, means you are omnipotent in PvP. Yes, people will gang up on a 5-boxer because they are defeating a single person who wields an army, and also because it's a different challenge for them.

If I get camped, I will either:
Slowly make my way, death hopping, back to a friendly zone, where NPCs can back me up, or
Respawn and kill as many (start with the lowest levels/weakest) of them as I can before I get owned.

If you can't make this fun, it would be in your best interest to play on a PvE server.

i dont think i have ever been omnipotent with 5-boxing.... Well we were back in the day when we were a small number LOL j/k. Times change and people get use to us.

I figured as much that it would need to be either pvp at the cost having fun pvping, or pve as the cost of being able to complete my goals.

    thanks for everyones' input.

It's one of those things you either love or hate. Last night was a prime example - I went to this spot in Searing Gorge to knock out a few quests and get gang raped pretty hard. We had about 4-5 guardians and there were at least 10 defiants. I didn't even realize, but within my public group was Void, so I asked him to come over and the next thing I know it was a good two hours later of some awesome pvp. Initially it was something like 9-10 guardians vs a good 20+ defiants and you can definitely see how OP cadence is stacked as it took the defiant some time to mass enough people to finally kill us. This went back and forth, and what I didn't realize was how good the experience was from killing the opposing faction. I gained a good 1/4th of a level throughout that mayhem.

When you die and get camped it sucks, but when you're returning the favor, it's very rewarding. I expect 40-50 to be really bad as you'll have a ton of 50s running around ganking, but that's part of the fun of playing on a pvp server.

One thing you can do if you're getting camped and nobody to help, is simply queue up for warfronts and when the queue pops, res up and enter. For that, you'll get some more balanced pvp action, and when the BG is done, your campers will likely get bored. You should also save your soul walk for those occasions where it seems tough to get out of the area.

What I've seen, is that players that enjoy world pvp, hate being on a PVE server in the long term. However, if you enjoy organized PVP like warfronts, and PVE, then without a question, roll on a PVE server.

Queueing up for a WF and resurrecting to join it immediately is a dynamite idea!

I've heard rumors of GoonSwarm (from EvE Online) playing on Loltham as Defiant. They run around in a 30-40man group. Their goal is to disrupt the gaming experience of the Guardians.

Anything labeled as GoonSwarm is bound to be awesome.
