Thread: Moonkins at 85

    Default Moonkins at 85

Has anyone tried this team yet, how is the damage?

Contemplating making a 5 druid team for the heck of it, and burst winning with Chain Typhoons into group root, into aoe silence, all while starfall is pouring down.

I cant seem to find anyone stating what each start from starfall is doing at 85, but with the simplicity that is Solar beam, and potentially cycloning the healers, I cant see how aoe daze + knockback into a wall + group root + multiple silencing areas, with temporarily no healer would have a problem blowing 5v5 apart.

I see this team doing well with 4 Boomkins and a Resto shaman, either played by you or a friend, so that you get Bloodlust + Fear escape, and 6% more spell power.

    Comments anyone?

    On paper, it looks good.

    Solar Beam + Instant Root.
Along with all the other toys, of Boomkins.

They were lacking, healing in a DPS form.
And never lacked AoE power or DPS.
The balance rotation is easily macroable now, as long as you don't take Sunfire (is that still correct, no Sunfire?).

Running four + a healer, removes the no-healing in DPS forms thing.
But you cannot provide support healing, like Shammies.

Still the Silence+Root is a strong addition.

Been running my first team in heroics the last few days.

DPS are Boomkin, Destro Lock, and Ele Shaman. The boomkin is typically a bit below the other two, but nothing major. The big thing is that sometimes it takes him a while to get into the Eclipse Zone. You basically cast about 12 Wraths in a row to ensure you hit one end of the Eclipse Bar then about 10 Starfires in a row to make sure you hit the other end. Thing is, if he misses hitting one of the ends, he's stuck outside the Eclipse Zone for about 30 seconds of casting, hurting his DPS.

This almost never happens when consistently casting (I ensured my macro had a few extra casts just to make sure each end was hit), but it can happen if you wait around a bit between fights. When he's in the zone, he's right up there with the other two.

I just do PvE, but I've been amazed how good Entangling Roots is as a CC in heroics when cast on melee mobs. Solar Beam is also great, as is their almost insta-rez and great party buffs in Moonkin form.

Overall, I'm pleasantly surprised with my Booomie.

My team is 83 right now and consists of a Palatank, HolyPriest, Boomkin, Ele and an ArcaneMage. My problem is, that my boomkin does 1-2k dps less than the other two. Even on bossfight, where he only have to stand and cast.

So could somebody please post his dps makro

My third team, 5 ferals are at 84 now, tomorrow 85, and I will be testing some Boomkin stuff when I have a chance, but for now feral is better =)
