    Default 60+ leveling via pvp?

Is leveling via pvp possible? I was gone from the game for quite a while and just recently came back. All my toons are lvl 60. I have five accts, if it matters.

its possible to level just mining, its not viable though. you need to work out if you can cope with the slower leveling that pvp brings, compared with your fun in doing so and see if its worth it. the slowness comes not from exp gained per win, its the time it takes to get into BG's

It is possible to level via PvP provided you follow 2 rules:

Always pick random battleground or the weekend battleground. The XP gains for normal battlegrounds are negligible and are much slower than questing.

Win. Losing a long battleground is a real pain in the ass. You get hardly any XP for it and a long one can take a good 30+ minutes which is a fair bit of questing/mob killing. Saying that, if you get a few quick wins in Strand of the Ancients, AB or Eye of the Storm where you can win in 6-7 minutes, you can make some unbelievable XP per hour.

In order to maximise my winning chances I tend to wait until I am in the upper half of the level range for BGs. Remember if you are boxing in BGs you are making up a significant portion of the team. A 15 man BG team may be able to carry one or two minimum level players, but they are unlikely to carry 5.

This has been made easier with the new ranges being made up of 5 levels instead of 10. ie. 60-64, 65-69, 70-74 etc.

The way I like to play it is to break up my questing. I run around doing my quests, then every 10 mins or so will queue. It breaks up the questing and keeps things a lot more stimulating for levelling. If I lose a few in a row it can be very frustrating though normally because you have run into some idiots who blame you for losing the BG (when it is normally their fault... no matter how many times I scream at people in AB not to follow me around, I still get 1-2 people who just follow me from node to node watching) and you make negligible XP gains during that time.

Basically if you enjoy PvP and can have a reasonable win rate, then do it. If you are looking for a faster way to level then forget it, because there is a lot that is outside of your control. You will have some awesome days and some horrible days.

    Cheers

Thanks for the replies. I will try next av weekend.

Do you still have to do that quest to get the av port-to-base trinket?

BG leveling is extremely fast. EXTREMELY fast.

A friend of mine leveled from 15 to 71 over one WSG weekend. It may not be as fast as RAF, or boosting, but for more "legit" leveling, with fast queue's it will easily outpace normal questing or instancing.

This is esp. true at lower levels. <60it really slows down to more like 6-7% of level per win. If you have a good team and can get a high percentage of wins, but if you get a run of losses, it can be a pretty slow way to level.

On a sidenote, funny story in WSG levelling. I have levelled all of my 5 teams to 80 without RAF at all. My most recent team was pallies though. I remember getting 20 levels one WSG weekend because I kept getting grouped with this cheating warlock. We would land in WSG, see this guy in group and cheer. Basically he would teleport from the starting area, into their flag area and back to ours instantly and we wouls win and get about half a level in 3 minutes.

Don't get me wrong, I am not a fan of cheating at all but I was pretty happy to being a not so unwitting beneficiary :P

One thing that does suck, is if you don't have full heirloom sets you're at such a huge disadvantage before level 60 or so. I remember rolling into WSG at level 11, and having people with nearly 1k HP playing against me
