    Default 4box Shaman Totems Question

Hey guys, I was reading Boylston's quad shaman info, and have some questions about his totem recommendations. How exactly am I supposed to be using my totems? Right now I have for example #3 as a totem key map and a different totem on each shaman. I haven't used the spell that drops 4 of each kind down, but is that what I am supposed to be using? How do you set up your totems?

    Thanks

    Totem Recommendations
There are variations and slight strategic differences from player to player, but here is a good start point.

(Note: Feel free to provide input here!!!)

Earth: 3x Tremor (staggered highly preferred), 1xEarthbind (strongly consider talenting another shaman to AoE root)
Fire: 4xSearing Primary, Button for 4xMagma if melees swarm. Recommend Partner Fire Nova button/modifier key.
Air: 3xGrounding, 1xWrath of Air (Recommend a button that refreshes/drops 3-4 Grounding totems during a battle)
Water: 1xMana Stream, 1xTranquil Mind, 2xHealing Stream, (1 character should have Healing Stream Glyphed for more resistance buff)

You can either make a new Call of Spirits/Elements/Ancestors and individually choose the totems that you want on him right there. For example for your main shaman you choose:

Tremor Totem, Searing Totem, Grounding Totem, Mana Spring Totem

But the thing with that is that if you have 3 more tremor totems, you drop them all at once. And the tremor totem will pulse 3 times on the same time. (Trying to remove sleep, charm, fear effects three times on the same moment, wich isn't needed).

So if you want them to pulse individually i have choosen to not drop Tremor Totems in the Call of Spirits/Ancestors/Elements and i have put Tremor Totem on my action bars, bound to a key. This key is included in my round-robin template of KeyClone. If i press the key, i drop tremor totem 1x, press it again, i drop the second one, drop it again i use the third one. So if you press it 4 times you drop 4 totems on a different moment, and they try to remove those sleep, fear and charm effects on a different moment.

    Example not staggered:
Second 1: 4x tremor totem dropped
    Second 2: Nothing
    Second 3: Nothing
    Second 4: Nothing
Second 5: Tremor totem tries to remove sleep/charm/fear effects x4.

    Example Tremor Totems staggered:
Second 1: Tremor Totem dropped on toon #1.
Second 2: Tremor Totem dropped on toon #2.
Second 3: Tremor Totem dropped on toon #3.
Second 4: Tremor Totem dropped on toon #4.
Second 5: Tremor totem from toon #1 tries to remove sleep/charm/fear effects from party and raid members.
Second 6: Tremor totem from toon #2 tries to remove sleep/charm/fear effects from party and raid members.
Second 7: Tremor totem from toon #3 tries to remove sleep/charm/fear effects from party and raid members.
Second 8: Tremor totem from toon #4 tries to remove sleep/charm/fear effects from party and raid members.
Second 9: Tremor totem from toon #1 tries to remove sleep/charm/fear effects from party and raid members.
Second 10: Tremor totem from toon #2 tries to remove sleep/charm/fear effects from party and raid members.
And so on and so on...

Or you can stagger the "Call of xxxxx".
Either software side, or with a filler spell.

I believe Tremor pulses every 3 seconds; the above post implies every 4 seconds which could be correct.
So with two Shammies, you'd like 1.5 seconds between drops.
With three Shammies, you'd like to drop a Tremor every second.
With four Shammies, you'd like to drop a Tremor every 3/4's of a second.

If you go with a software round-robin, time when you drop each set of totems.
And you can really benefit from staggering 3 or 4 Tremors.

If you go with filler spells, the GCD pretty much gets you totems at the 0.0 mark and 1.5 second mark (a tad more delay than 1.5, because of latency), so two staggered Tremors is probably the maximum benefit you'll see in practice.

I understand what you guys are talking about, but I'm not 100% on how to set up the round robin =(. I use IS Boxer not Keyclone, and am having a rough time figuring it out. I have 4 shamans and would really - REALLY - love to have thunderstorm on separate attacks instead of using them all at once all the time (I'm sure you're thinking "Wow, noob" right now - LOL).

Within IS Boxer Toolkit, create a Key Map.
Drag it onto your character set, so it will apply to your team.
I like to have a Keymap for a given team, but you could just put things in General if you prefer.

If you create a new Key Map, be sure to edit the Control Mapped Key, which toggles Key Maps on and off.
Have it enable/disable your new Key Map, for the team that it is associated with (not for all windows/all teams).

Create a new Mapped Key, within the Keymap of choice.
I would give it the same Keybind as you use for the Thunderstorm ability in Warcraft.
You can repeat the process with your Totem Stomp macro too.

Give it as many Steps as there are members on your team who have the given ability.
If you're running four Shammies with a Paladin, then you will have four Steps.

Since Totem dropping and Thunderstorm do not require targeting, this is rather easy.
If you were doing Hex on round-robin, you would want to include an FTL Assist Me, in each step.

    Step 1.
    - Send your Warcraft Keybind, to Shaman 1.

    Step 2.
    - Send your Warcraft Keybind to Shaman 2.

    Step 3.
    - Send your Warcraft Keybind to Shaman 3.

    Step 4.
    - Send your Warcraft Keybind to Shaman 4.

    That is basically it.
Your warcraft keybinds are all the same, so you could one-box any of the shammies just fine.
And if you launch the team with IS Boxer, you already know the keybind for Thunderstorm/Totems.
Just press it four times in sequence, once per Shaman.
