Thread: Does this work

    Default Does this work

I currently am using two subs for keyclone on my two computers. I run my main on a 28" monitor and my 4 slaves on a 24" monitor. I feel keyclone is gimping me hard by not being able to use aoe spells effectively and flt shortcomings.

I was reading ualaa's guide on isboxer and innerspace and I would like to try it. I am sick of writing macro after macro after macro. My team is already gimped because of ftl issues(my tank dies they all die).

I am under the assumption, after reading the guide, innerspace and isboxer will work across two computers. I currently use a lycosa keyboard and a g13 keypad. The problem I have is that I have to take my hand off the mouse to hit heal keys on the g13 for my party. This makes reaction time and healing my toons next to impossible in the new dungeons and needs to be fixed.

Mass dispel and other tageted aoe spells I cannot even use. My macro list is annoying and makes me want to pull my hair out when I switch members in and out of dual spec.

I want to be able to load my toons and control almost all functions by clicking my main window. I see that this can be done using isboxer. I was thinkiing of buying the razor mouse with the buttons just so I didn't have to move my hand off the mouose and could keep my team moving. Cata has actually made movement a part of the game now. Try as I might to do certain instances the same way I have done then in wrath is just a no dang go.

I run a dk tank and 4 priest team. I never needed a dedicated healer in wrath with this group but after barely managing to down VP on reg with no healer and mana issues iI decided to go 3 shadow 1 disc for a regular group. The added dps is like night and day.

I want to know if isboxer will do everything I want it to do using two computers ie targeted aoe and heals using clicks in my main window for all toons and the ability for me to effectively use ftl. I know I cannot pip swap across machines but it would help enormously if i could just mouse to a slave window and pick up toons on follow when they get feared all over and control heals when I do switch to that new window using input director for kvm. I don't like the fact that innerspace is a sub program but Rob hasn't updated keyclone since july of '09. I would gladly sub to a solution for my problems. I know I am not using keyclone to its full potential but it seems so much less versatile than innerspace and isboxer from what I have been reading.

Yep. If you're still not convinced by my one word answer, ISBoxer has a 7 day free trial that will let you know if it is what
    you're looking for.

OMG! I can not even imagine how difficult this is. If you can manage to play this way, surely you are going to be a GOD with software that does most of it for you.

Perhaps I dont understand.. why would you want to? Normally people will use Hardware to multibox, or Software. I havent heard of anyone doing both???

Oh wow! Im still learning. Ive been boxing for 9 months now, and im still finding new ways to do things. Ive got 3 computers at hom with the ability to run WoW. Perhaps I should be looking into this too, it will definitely be easier on my processor.

Do you need to have ISBoxer on both computers? Do I need TWO ISBoxer accounts?

    Yes.
Glad to hear this. I use two computers because the new one i built has onboard graphics that i never bothered to buy a graphics card for. This is the only reason I don't run dual monitors on this machine and just use one computer. This computer has a quad core and 8 gigs of ram and runs at 3.0ghz. I could easily run 5 instances of wow on this machine if i bought a graphics card but I have another machine which is an old dial core i built 5 years ago that has sli 8800 overclocked gt's in it that i uswe for the main. I run the main at 1920x1200 res at the highest possible settings. I was just going to get a 5850 or something to toss into the newer quadcore but im too lazy. As far as playing with no aoe spells I never needed them in wrath. I could do a heroic pos pulling 15-18 mobs at a time and using holy nova to aoe them all down. blizz gimped holynova probably after watching me do this over and over. Imagine an instant heal that heals everyone in the group for 8k reg and almost 12k crit and does 5k dps it was really a joke. I farmed hilts in Hpos and outfitted 12 80's with one and sold more than 15 by just doing this. I managed to down BRC and VP without using any form of cc nor dedicated healer even with as hard as they gimped my group. I basically used 4 spells never shielded the tank and healed only with penance and holynova. The game has so many options to tweak things that it can be done. I like to play a certain way but cata dungeons have changed this. Try doing the lowbie water dungeon first boss without moving or using a dedicated healer i had that dam bitch down to 20 percent so many times but just went oom all the time and died. SInce i switched to 3 shadow 1 disc preist i can do vortex pinnacle all trash with never moving my 4 toons and healing with just penance and renew and using pws on the tank.

I want to have isboxer setup so that I can use my mouse to click the heal button for any toon I want within the game window and not have to press a physical button. The day I don't have to worry about key layouts and taking my hand off the mouse for heals is the day the game goes into easypie mode for me. You give me the ability to use targeted aoe from my mains window..omfg ru kidding me. I would actually swing the mouse to slave window click the spell and target it from that window. You can imagine the timing and pure luck of some of the shit i was pulling off. I watched the vids of nolife running these dungeons and I'm like wtf..this is a joke. I know that dude doesn't use keyclone to do what he is doing because I have used keyclone for 2 years and it don't do that stuff. I didn't know that innerspace could be put on multiple comps from the same account, that is a bonus. I will have to give it a try. as far as the mouse broadcasting goes I don't think it will work unless i gimp my mains resolution to that of the slaves which will suck ass. I am just going to buy a nice ati card to toss in my newer system so I can do pip and stuff as well. Keyclone served me fine for 2 years but it is time to move on. There is noway I will ever be able to do heroics using it.

not two accounts, just need isboxer and innerspace on each computer.

IS Boxer will support up to five computers, with the one subscription.
I've not done the multiple machines myself, but there is the support for it.

I'm not sure that you can do instant swap, across machines. But you could certainly instant swap between warcraft clients running on the same machine. And the mouse broadcasting will be fast and accurate, assuming each warcraft is rendered at the same resolution.

You can still do complicated macro setups if you want. The basic FTL functionality covers your need for assisting and follow. You can construct your macros within IS Boxer, and place them within a Keymap for spec 1, and have separate macros within a Keymap for spec 2. And then have a toggle which will load one set and unload the other. Macros can exceed the 255 character limit, so if warcraft recognized /cast [spec:1] or something similar, you could likely write each set of macros as a single macro and not even bother switching macro sets.
    EverQuest I: Bard / Enchanter / Druid / Wizard / 2x Magician.
    Diablo III: 4x Crusader & 4x Wizard.
