Thread: 10 box pve team

    Default 10 box pve team

Was hoping to get your opinions on this as well.... For 10 boxing cata raids.... Healers would be 2 shaman, tanks would be blood dk and bear, and dps would be 3 mages and 3 hunters. Are there any specs you think would work best for the mages/hunters? My thinking is this group would work very well with its CC capabilities. I figure the bear tank can help take down a single mob quick and the dk tank can death grip a stray mob. This group does lack the option of a emergency 3rd tank/healer. Im not sure if that will be an issue. Any thoughts? Maybe as to how to tweak this combo to make it better?

I'd consider a few more Hybrids.
You can spec a Shammy both Elemental or Resto.
A priest can go Shadow dps or Disc/Holy healing.
A druid can go Boomkin dps or Resto healing.

That gets you a bit more flexibility.
Some fights might be doable with two healers, others might require three.
If a given boss does not Enrage, you could go with three until you outgear the content, then use two for additional speed.

Take a look at the buffs you get, both the spells and the procs.
Take a look at the debuffs you can place upon the mobs.
Try to have as many of these as are relevant to you.

Or you could just throw in as many classes as you can - then you're sure to get every buff you need.

Why use hunters for dps over more mages?

Why use Bear for tank over Prot Pal?

The DK is fine for DG and off tank but would not an extra pure dps be even more valuable?

I understand that multiple classes give more buffs/debuffs but does not the ease of programing fewer class macros and simpler (thus faster) play outweigh that advantage?

@sam hunters are my physical dps. Bear tank since i can aoe with dk and use bear to drop the mob quick. Idea is to cc as much as possible, the dk will hold aoe aggro and grab stray mobs and the bear will drop em (since im aiming for mostly single mob pulls). And dk over pally cuz i dont like pallies and dk will do at least as well. As for faster play that will come as we start outgearing these places. For now my idea of faster play is going to be wiping as little as possible by pulling small amounts and slowly drop em with my dps/tanks while i use 3 healers to try to keep my guys standing.
