Default Suggested team makeup for returning boxer?

    Hi,

I three-boxed a fair bit in the past and had much fun doing so. In the intervening time, those toons have been migrated onto my main account and are now played solo (did prot pally, holy priest, demo/dest lock 1=>80 as a trio).

I walked away from boxing for a fair bit as I was focused on playing toons singly, but now I want to try it again from 1 up.

I can't do goblins just yet - I only have one cata account and the other two are just wotlk accounts. I'll be doing it without RAF or heirlooms, so just normal leveling.

I thought of the classic three elemental shammies, but I do already have a shaman, it's level 62 enh/resto...I dunno maybe I could do another set of three shammies all elemental?

Does a team of triple elemental shammies still work really well? Would it be better to run a prot pally plus two elemental shammies? Or prot/elem/resto?

Or how about three mages? I currently don't have any mages, but had planned to make a goblin mage to play solo. I suppose I could play the goblin solo til it leaves the starting area, then team up with the other two mages once they've caught up...

The other class I'm missing entirely is druid. Does three boomkins work well?

    Go for 5!

Tank - I prefer pallies and dks
Healer - I prefer priests and shamans
DPS - I prefer ranged: shamans melée: DKs

If 5 isn't possible get a dedicated healer and tank
    buddy and play 3 DPS.

for a 3-team i'd suggest tank and 2 range dd's. did that a year or so before switching to 5-boxing. my girlfriend played healer and a 3rd range dd - but of course you could get 2 friends for that.

if you play a tank and 2 ranges (one or even both hybrids) you could "solo" a lot of content i'd guess, with one of the dd's switching to heals or both healing in dps spec if necessary. i played dk-tank, boomkin, mage at the time. had a blast.

and for not having druids... go for it! druids rock =) (i'm a big fan, having a LOT of them..)

I just got back and started up a 4 shaman 1 pally team. I've been breezing through all the dungeons and quests. I am currently level 51 on my toons and I work 50 hours a week :P
Leveling is super easy and its only taken me about 2 weeks so far. about 1.5 days /played. although most of that is standing in starter zone trying to get macros working again since the last time i boxed was... 2 years ago :P

I'm 2-boxing at the moment and went for pally/priest. I like to have a disc priest if I don't have a dedicated healer as disc has alot of good dmg/heal mechanics.

I think this is the 40th time I'v answered this question since 2001.

First you get a tank: pro pally or whatever

Then you get a healer: resto shaman or whatever

Then you get a dps: mage or whatever

You will find others to group with very easy with those three as you are basically gtg off the bat, finding a healer when you have 3 dps and a tank or finding a tank when you have 3 dps and a healer is a lot harder then finding 2 dps .....

You have your core and now you can add more dps as needed.
